It's crazy how fans now try to rewrite history by downplaying Drake's influence and impact in Hip Hop. There's several videos of such nature where Kendrick is thanking and crediting Drake for putting him in earlier on when he did not even had an album out yet. Same thing with Asap Rocky who said he owes his success to Drake as he put him on tour and kooked after him, gave him a lot of money and never wanted to even sign him, The Weekend as well who was unknown before Drake's collaborations and he took him on his tour and OVO fest as well, there's a lot of rappers who credit Drake for their success but the fans are now trying to say otherwise

Kendrick always showed love. Drake threw a passive aggressive fit over the Control verse and that's when things got sour between them. That line about the metaphors not reaching Drake and him showing his lack of integrity as a result is exactly how their tension started even 10+ years ago. A pattern.
