Gewaltig schön, dieses Choralvorspiel ist seiner Zeit 150 Jahre voraus, oder anders gesagt, Bach ist einfach unschlagbar gut in allen Bereichen der Musik. Toll gespielt!!

How is the sound so good? Did you use microphones?

The sound is recorded by a Zoom H6 only... located at the optimum spot for the acoustics. Only the bass was raised a very little bit, but no other editing.

Tolle Interpretation! Ich selbst habe das Stück vor kurzem erst im Studium gemacht, und es zT sehr unterschiedlich gespielt. Umso mehr freut es mich, wenn man auf Aufnahmen trifft, mit denen man übereinstimmt :)

The melodic progression is very well understood and rendered, with nice chanting rhythm slides. Perfect registration, once again. A reference interpretation.

Are you by chance the most French of all German organist? Greetings from France anyway. ;) It is nice hearing Gigout's Toccata with the proper registration: it is usually played too loud, especially at the beginning.

The best interpretation I have heard on KZfaq. It is indeed mandatory to play it highlighting the first note of each quartet, and take the time to let the huge pedal roars shine, then don't be afraid of slowing down the tempo when needed. Very nice organ and registration for sure. It is a piece of fury organ music, easy to play, but needing true musicality for it not to be boring. Congrats Matthias!
