I grew up in Overland, moved to Jeffco when I was a pre-teen, now I’m on the Illinois side. I recommend everyone who is moving here to check out the Ofallon/Shiloh area. Even Mascoutah or Trenton/Lebanon. Super nice, low crime, and your money can buy you much more house on the IL side.

Just witnessed my first robbery at a NOCO gas station this weekend while visiting. Stay away from Ferguson and NOCO area.

African American woman born in mid 1970s in Florissant (north county or NOCO). I moved to Dallas in 2001 but family still there so I visit yearly. Around 2008-ish I noticed an extreme decline in the North County area. More crime, major businesses closing, etc. Got extremely worse after pandemic. Sad because in the 80s where I grew up, Florissant/Black Jack area was a great place for middle class black families. If I ever move back, I'd probably move to Clayton, St. Peters or Lake St. Louis area. Downtown areas that are being re-built are nice too but I prefer suburban. Also like the Forest Park area. I am afraid for my elderly parents living in North county. Trying to get them to move.

Get rid of Cori Bush, D-Mo and your life will improve. She has done nothing for St Louis and won't ever as her agehda is not yours and she is usung the votes you gave her as a platform to screw you.

Colorado has both Denver and Broomfield as independent city-counties, similar to STL city.

You forgot to talk about the pollution left over from WWII which affects Florissant, especially along the river that goes thru the town!!!!!

This was a solid and honest assessment of Saint Louis. Yes, Saint Louis has its bad parts, but it's easy to forget that it has many positives. With some common sense, Saint Louis can be a great place to live for anyone. And the low price of living is no joke. Food & housing--you can easily live there for a FOURTH of what you'd pay in New York for example.

Moving to St louis to work near Mercy south hospital. But i like chesterfield area based on my research. How long of a commute is it going to be if i live in Chesterfield? What areass do you suggest, main criteria being less crime?

Lived in Town & Country for 30 years. Great commuty and many choices of schools from public ( mostly Parkway) to private and parochial schools. Hospitals and medical offices and parks are near. Easy commute.

There is a very clear difference between St Louis City, St Louis County and all the tiny Municipalities when it comes to appearance and services. All the Shitholes are run by democrat mayors! Lived here for over 30 years and it’s been in rapid decline for last 15👎👎👎

For us, being refugees from Illinois, STL is just too busy. We kept going west, unincorporated Warren County.

Crime is the number one issue. I’m not from here, but been living here since 2014. I own a loft off Washington, there are many positive things about St. Louis and Missouri as a whole. However, the crime is too much. I moved here in my early 30’s, and am now in my 40’s, I have a decent paying job, and I’m just waiting for the right opportunity to leave. The crime has gotten worse, and I just don’t see it changing in the next 10-15 years.

It should also be known that if you live in St. Louis city that you have to give the city 2% of your gross income at tax time for no fucking reason. They also don’t tell you this and will have the tax collector come after you three years after the fact with late fees.

Easy to explain avoid totally north city north county northwest county even some west or central west then avoid south city and all east side accros river its all.

I moved from Atlanta to the Metro East (St Clair county, IL) in 2006 and I love it. I miss some of the amenities of Atlanta, but the quality of life, salaries, and work opportunities were so much better here. And it's nice to be able to drive 20 minutes west and cross the bridge and be in the downtown of St Louis.
