At 0:24 , bending strings with 0.10 guage strings at 12 frets seems absolutely unrealistic to me. I rather think you have 09.42 ;) Because with 010 guage, such a bend on the 12th fret is not possible ;)

That is a very interesting opinion. All bends are possible with 0.10 gauge strings. I used to use 0.09 gauge strings because I was a long-time fan of Paul Gilbert, and I had the same doubts as you. But later, I learned that many guitarists use 10.46 gauge strings, including Guthrie Govan, Martin Miller, and John Mayer. Even blues guitarists seem to use even heavier gauges. before, 0.10 gauge felt too heavy for me, but now 0.09 gauge feels too light for me. Thank you for your interesting opinion.

I enjoy shred playing, I had doubts for a long time about whether using 0.10 gauge strings was the right choice. However, now they feel very comfortable to me. But I don't think 0.10 gauge is superior to 0.09 gauge. Many great guitarists use thinner gauge strings. I started using 0.10 gauge strings under the influence of Guthrie Govan.

@@songseulguitari remember i watch martin miller's interview maybe a year ago, after met paul gilbert and have a chat with him, he decided to use 0.09 gauges of strings for his ibanez AZ, that's why since 2024 his tone is a bit thinner than usual, and also he did pretty crazy bendings recently.

Thank you for your answer 👍 Interesting that I find the 010 string gauge very heavy just by bending the strings like that. I think many pro. guitarists use 09.42 like Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert or 08.38 like Malmsteen ;) So I definitely don't believe your answer. If you have a floated tremolo and use 0.10 strings on it, it must be a very hard attack on the fingers. That is not possible.@@songseulguitar

Thanks for watching. I used the fractal audio AX8 and chose the amp model 'brit brown.' It's probably associated with marshall and eddie van halen. I also boosted it with a ts-9. :)
