Washington was a Lt. Colonel in the Virginia militia during the French Indian War/Seven Years War, not a major.
@Relizabeth112 сағат бұрын
He was sworn into the Virginia militia as a Major. Then he moved up to Lt. Colonel within 2 years.
@HistoryCoffeeBreak10 сағат бұрын
It is historically accurate that he became a Lt. Colonel, but entered as a Major.

I suspect the 'dancing plague' was caused by ergot mold (in rye grain), the same as the Salem Witch trial insanity centuries later in Massachusetts.

That seems to be a viable (and nasty) culprit!

Why do I love the second lady’s name so much? It just fits so perfectly with the story! Also, I feel like there is a joke about ass and molasses somewhere in the first one.

I'll bet the ladies of the 1910s knew more about the American Constitution and three branches of government than your average Ivy league college graduate of today. So sad, a representative form of government like we have is only effective if the populace has some understanding of how it works. Thanks for the look back as we move forward.

We could engineer a car, but pads…nope 🤪 I wonder if women had handled things the same way for so long that companies questioned if their products would even be adopted, especially disposable items. Not sure on that.
