Walking 10 miles a day with my Nimbus 25, would you recommend the SB2 for someone that wants comfort for the long run?

I’m still torn between vaporfly 3 or asics magic speed 4 for my speed session, any suggestions? (I’m currently rocking pegasus 38 & novablast 3 for dailies)

Vaporfly is a much faster shoe and great for race day, but much less durable. The Magic Speed 4 has more cushion and is more durable, but still speedy.

Does it bother anyone that Nike went with 4 spikes vs. 6? I saw lots of Olympians slip, especially in the steeplechase which speaks to lack of traction in wet conditions.

I am normally a Saucony Endorphin guy and have just tried these Asics on a demo day. They are plusher than Endorphin Speed or Pro and were generally very comfortable at a half-marathon distance except for one problem. The heel counter of Asics Magic Speed started digging into my achilles at about 10 miles and was feeling worse with every step. When I looked at them side-by-side with my first-gen Endorphin Pro after the run, I realized the top of the Sauconys heel counter curves slightly away from the heel, while the Asics heel counter doesn’t. Unfortunately it makes a lot of difference for me. Can’t use them.

What’s the difference between dragonfly 2 and dragonfly 2 elite electric?
@tfxcShoes
@tfxcShoes 18 күн бұрын
Electric is just means the Paris cheetah colorway. The Dragonfly 2 and Dragonfly 2 Elite are now both available in that color. The Dragonfly 2 Elite Electric is the same shoe I have in this video, just a different color.

To be honest, I wish the Dragonfly 2 had a carbon fiber plate from the beginning along with removable pins. That would give Nike a single distance spike that they could use for the general public and their elite athletes. The carbon fiber plate would also give it the aggressiveness to work well in the 800 and 1500 as well as the 3k, 5k, and 10k, negating the need for the Air Zoom Victory.

That's what these shoe companies do, they want you to spend money on multiple shoes. Forget about multi-purposing or durability.

i had a super handful of run on this shoe I bought these shoes and used them for the first time in a race the very next day. I broke them in during the race, and they were bouncy, responsive, and propulsive. They can handle both slow and easy runs. I tried them on a 32km race, and throughout the run, I felt protected. They supported my high arch well during the entire race. Even when I encountered uneven terrain, including unmetalled roads (also known as gravel roads or dirt roads), they felt protective. The bounce protected my legs, calves, and other parts of my body

If it’s for race day, the Metaspeed Edge+, but if it’s just for training, I prefer the extra protection of the Magic Speed 4

I've done 3 marathons in the metaspeed sky plus sub 4 hours each. Very nice shoe, bit firm but they feel great. I'm currently using the sky Paris but it feels more like a half Mara shoe.

Fit comments makes no sense, you would never need to half size down, these are very fitted. I have a 12, wear a 12 in everything and these are tight in the toebox for length. Same comments from many on the asics website.

I have recently gotten a reworked version of this shoe, named the Gel-Glyde 3 MX (basically the same shoe with a mesh knit-upper with a door-to-trail sole). It's been really nice, and alongside the Gel-Kayano 28, they are the best shoes I've ever bought thus far.

Surprised your v1’s only have 100 miles in them! it seems like although there are some updates to v2 there aren’t Wow! ones. I’m closing in on 400 miles in my v1’s and they look like they could go for 400 more easy. Neo Vistas are definitely soemthing I’m looking forward to getting 🤩

Buying a do it all shoe doesn’t save money. I never understood that logic. Yes, you only bought 1 pair of shoes. But you’re only going to get 1 pair of shoes’ mileage as well. So you just need more shoes twice as soon

Your review was spot on, although I still think there is a break-in period with V2. It is a bouncer, and it feels higher than V1. The foam is slightly softer, not too crazy, but noticeable still breaking my V2 in, but the lock is secure no need for a runner's knot either. I feel v2 is a little narrower than v1, but just a little bit. I don’t think it’s worth upgrading if your V1 is still good

Neo vista has eva. Not peba or tpu even. It does feel great though but i think it might lose its bounce faster than peba foams.

In my experience buying all types of shoes, midsoles that feel "amazing" right out-of-the-box don't last NEARLY as long as shoes that SLOWLY soften up over time. Maybe the Superblast v2 will be the exception since it has so MUCH extra foam. Any loss in resilience could be masked by all the extra mm's able to take up the slack. But in shoes of 'normal' stack ranges, an ultra squishy midsole right-off-the-bat is a bad sign for longevity... like sub 200mi

It's not cheaper to buy one shoe instead of 2. You need to look longtime for this calculation. And some people don't mind having 2 shoes for easy runs, 2 shoes for workout runs and 1 shoe for races.

How do you compare it to the Hoka Skyward X? I'm using the Skyward as my "everything" shoe these days except race days.
@tfxcShoes
@tfxcShoes Ай бұрын
I find the Skyward X to be too much shoe for me to be able to compress. I mainly use it as a recovery shoe when I want something with lots of protection and the nice rocker. The Superblast is much much lighter and more versatile for me.
