Sorry for sneaking into a daughter's conversation 😅. But I have to tell that as a Asian it is even harder to be the eldest. If our siblings will get f#cked up it'd be an our fault 😢 And I agree with you that we should stay away from useless conversations. I naturally don't like to talk much about useless things. @@vip_izza aww I totally feel you. I definitely wished I realized sooo many things earlier, my life could’ve been so different. However, there’s a reason why we’re not born knowing everything y’know? @@LiciaWang That's the word: 'The beauty in the pain.' Everything we've been through holds a deeper meaning. We should strive to uncover that meaning and learn from our mistakes. Cultivating a positive mindset is challenging and requires deliberate effort and practice. It is a skill that must be honed over time. Really glad I got a chance to talk with someone who is so wise and bit far ahead of me in this journey Licia! You da best !

Now im afraid and i don't want to be in a relationship again to make myself suffering. Also as same as you mentioned I had bad experiences by believing my friends too. They used my kindness and innocence so trickily. When I realised that , I was too late end up making a wrong attitude in others mind towards me. My friends were secretly on a mission to ruin my name and make others hate me .I'll be better forever alone. Great vid gurl ! Keep shining 🌟

Aw, I'm glad this video resonated, and I feel your pain. I know it's hard to believe right now, but the best thing we can do for ourselves is to not let these negative experiences change how we view the world. I went through a phase where all I wanted was to be detached and emotionless, but all that really did was sabotage my potential relationships/friendships. Our strength lies in our ability to keep being kind and loving, despite being tested by low-vibe people :) We can also take some responsibility for our own lives by identifying the red flags we missed, and the boundaries we should've set!

@@LiciaWang The hardest part is that only someone who's been through this can truly understand the situation. This means there won't be anyone to help or accept what you're going through. The self-healing process is really tough, and sometimes you can't fully recover. A scar will always remain in your heart after healing, and during the self-healing process, your soul can feel numb.As a result, I still love the pain because it's the only thing I can feel. You'll also have to deal with trust issues. Now, I look at people differently and am very aware of their every little move. Sometimes it's too much, but I do it to protect myself because I love myself now. And I love that point " our strength lies in our ability to keep being kind and loving " Keep shining Luci ❤️. You da best

@@vip_izzaI totally get what you mean. As much as we need to learn to put our defences down at the right times, it’s also a good thing that painful experiences have taught us we need to protect ourselves. As much as I believe there is so much good in the world, there is also almost an equal amount of bad we need to defend ourselves from. So, we shouldn’t aim to fully heal; instead, our pain acts as a reminder that we need to remember to stand up for ourselves It’s easy to be hard on ourselves for being so defensive, but we need to remember that it’s pain that made us this way in the first place ❤

People are on a treadmill of satisfaction because a lot of young people are led astray by mainstream influencers who tell them that material wealth or the illusion of self-reverence will fulfill them. But this all seems meaningless because we could always have more, we can’t take any of it with us when we die, and we have become slaves to hollow leisure activities. Things have meaning when they echo in eternity. So if what we do with our lives has a relationship with the eternal God then our lives have greater meaning. The Bible says Proverbs 27:20 Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied, and never satisfied are the eyes of man. Accepting Jesus and having our minds be sanctified from that will bring us true contentment in life. This is how the desert fathers could live almost their entire lives alone in the desert with nothing but bread and salt to nourish them. John 6:35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. However this doesn’t mean that God doesn’t want us to enjoy some of the delights of this world. He just wants us to do it in a more meaningful way. Ecclesiastes 3:13 Also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil-this is God's gift to man. Let me know your honest thoughts on this!

Amazing you are able to learn and realize these only halfway through your first year while others reach many of these conclusions at the end or after their degree. In terms of career, it doesn't have to be science or business. Finance or marketing or accounting. We can always do more than one whether one career after another as a discrete career or in combining them (people who graduated UBC 10 years ago some of them are in their second or third careers). Academic ability gets you only so far. There are social skills, network skills and at times understanding organisation politics and human psychology. Not as much who you know but more who knows you, remembers you and have a good impression of you that you would likely do something with your life. Some of the people who refer others from lab jobs to accounting firm internships are your classmates or friends from extracurricular activities who are or will be in the organization. The people who have parents or grandparents who are influential figures have both bigger shoes to fill like family legacy and accomplishments does not overshadow them and they have to frontier more paths in the world to leave their own mark. It can be useful in the future to know some of them and school is one of the few places where different socioeconomic classes mix which such classes stuck to their own groups in other situations. It is possible now to be an entrepreneur when one is 5 years old with the emergence of technology. Previously kids did not have good opportunities to make money or access to information and the internet made it much easier for them. In life, schools gives little opportunity to fail and big consequences if one does fail. It is important to learn to fail because doing things beyond our comfort zone and dealing with uncertainty have chance to fail. Companies start new projects that sometimes doesn't work as one example. Learn to mitigate any consequences from said failure, understand how to improve or do things differently for next time and be able to face setbacks and get back up. Great work and good luck with remaining university years. It goes by fast and one will have more and more responsibilities.

Us men hardly get approached, so when a girl that is acting too nice, overly interested or make advances, we are not used to it so we don't know how to read her intentions and we see this new experience as a red flag, and our first thought is that there must be something wrong with her 😅😂

Just subscribed to your channel and I'm very sure so many of us women have the same lives! I became the extroverted popular kid (cuz of academics ,extra-curriculars and helping people on tests) from the second half of my middle school to high school. But, I was the bullied kid in elementary school upto around 6th grade. You are so right about this trauma. I didn't want to be bullied anymore so, I just took to doing things for random people that only your close friends would do. Nevermind the fact, that, even in college I'm still scared that, if I stop being a people pleaser/ problem solver, I'll get isolated and bullied once again. The anxiety is SOOO real. A lot of times, I'm genuinely afraid to even voice out any unpopular personal interest/hobby just out of fear of being left behind. Also, what is up with senior girls bullying junior girls?!? I never understood the appeal of going off on a random power trip. Like, girl, she'll be in your class next year anyways. You should focus on your academics if you don't wanna end up being her classmate, lol. But seriously, some of the worst physical and mental harm(including SA) has been done to be by the senior girls in my school. The senior boys, in that respect, at least till middle school, weren't that extreme.
