Really comprehensive demo with some great playing but… Why would you demo a dirt pedal with another dirt pedal on the whole time? That really prevents a clear idea of how it actually sounds.
@signalpathКүн бұрын
good question! 2 reasons, 1 - the content I put out is to show how I use gear, not to be the most empirical study on how a piece functions 2 - I don't use amps that break up the way that fuzz likes to hear and so using an overdrive on is the best way to bring some of that tonality back. If you're looking for fuzz into tweed champ tones I probably wouldn't be the best resource, but I try to find nice tones!
@hoover72819 сағат бұрын
@@signalpath I guess that makes sense. I'm a bit frustrated with demos for this pedal in particular because I've been trying to decide between it and a couple others. There are only a handful of demos for it and most of them have quirks that inhibit getting a good sense of how it sounds. For the amp thing, I get what you're saying but would suggest just turning down the overdrive's gain a bit, so it is more responsive to the incoming fuzz rather than generating as much saturation of its own. Just my 2 cents. And you do get nice tones! This is one of the most musical demos I've heard in a while, a nice change from endless blues wanking. And for what it's worth this demo convinced me to get the B100, especially the cleaner stuff towards the end (I know the pedal can do the splatty fuzz thing wonderfully, I was wondering about the lower gain side). Hopefully I won't need to get a Sick As as well to make it sound so good lol.

on the gfi settings you are using it not in paralel at the point of you demo it ! +. is not parallel , its actually one into the other ...hmm im confused !
@signalpath7 күн бұрын
Actually that's not quite correct when the symbol is "<<" is when they are one in to the other, "++" is parallel and mixed at the output, and "||" is processing the left and right channel independently, so ++ is indeed parallel

I’m wondering about the noise floor with this pedal. I’m sure it’s pretty exaggerated when pushing into the Sick As. How’s the noise when it’s not overloading the overdrive in front of it?

Your MIDI video still managed to have lots of lovely sounds! I'm a longtime Morningstar user so nothing new here for me, but I like seeing how other people use the MC6 Pro. Another function I don't think you discuss is the ability to route an expression pedal to any MIDI cc controllable pedal parameter. For me, that means having one expression pedal that can switch from basic volume swells to wah to tremolo to weird multi-parameter sweeps with just a preset change.
@signalpath27 күн бұрын
Definitely worth returning to! the MIDI expression capabilities are their own complete world to explore

@signalpathАй бұрын
Man this is a really thoughtful question that I don't think I have a great answer for, but I'll definitely sit on haha. Most of what I play when I'm demoing stuff tends to be the things I noodle with when I'm just sitting with a guitar. I really like to have a broad mixture of open strings and high fretted voicings, so even if I'm playing in weird keys, I like to use a capo to keep that contrast if possible. Tight intervals, minor & major 2nds in chords to add some complexity. Tight clusters of notes overall or really long bridging intervals too. But a lot of my noodling is really just based on shapes I'm interested in. I've been playing a ton of "D" shapes up and down the neck lately and that definitely bleeds over into what I do over here

@@signalpath If you ever find yourself sitting wondering about a good topic for an upcoming video, I think a walkthrough to your approach for creating such beautiful sounding chords/voicings/melodies would be awesome. Only being one year into the learning journey of ambient music, I've noticed it seems many really talented musicians play so naturally and maybe even think that other people wouldn't be interested in seeing/learning how they are making the guitar sound so incredible. I can promise you, many of us spent way too much time studying the videos trying to figure out how in the world to make something sound even remotely close to what you're able to do. 😄 I appreciate all your time and videos.
