Dear friend, By keeping speed Under 40 kmph in cross country terrain I meant only where the terrain demands it, else we can go at whatever speed we want to or feel comfortable driving. In fact I've done long trips of 14 to 16 hours drive in a day with this Thar recently. Whereas in my younger says I did almost 20 hours of driving the Old Mm jeep as referred above.Yes the rests are included in this duration. Every individual has their own choice of vehicle for city , cross country or long drives. I respect your preferences for using it in your driving environment. A sedan would be my preferred choice if I want to have to travel in comfort. In fact ,I would also drive an Ashok Leyland Stalion Truck for long drive if ever the need so arises . Actually these long drives in my Thar I do just because I like driving this beast. You should drive the older Army Mahindra Jeep of the early 2000s to see the way this machine beats the old MM 540 or MM Commander.. I still do swear by that older jeep in the Deserts, track less and marshy areas. This new beast is way more refined by all standards in comparison to the old Mahindra Jeeps. So I chose this one just to remind me of my heydays with the older version. More over, the recent long trips are undertaken to tone up my stamina for a long trip scheduled in the near future. Possibly a trip covering all corners of our country some day soon. 😂

Possible only after I take a testdrive first. Not to ignore the possibility though😂

Please dont go by my review alone. Take a test drive of any vehicle you are desirous to purchase. , make your own criteria points for that vehicle, see how much the test driven vehicle meets your criteria, compare these points with other vehicles that also meets your criteria, then agree upon what all common points you can compromise upon. This will give you a rough idea of which vehicle you will aquire. The new 5 door looks to be promising, but, will the proposed price of the car at on road rate fit into my budget? This is what I have to see now.
