Haley was my favorite in Modern Family. I loved her character individually, and seeing her progress emotionally and mentally was so amazing. But the writers ruined her ending. Andy leaving (both the character and the actor) was not the misstep, it was how they handled her character after he left. She was so much better off not wallowing about anyone, and Dylan was an even worse mistake. Her having kids is so out of character, but makes sense considering her actions. All in all, Haley could've been a wonderful individual character. But hey, who would love the party girl character in her 30's if she had her own independent development without a love interest🤷

The producers and/or writers clearly weren't paying attention to The 70's show disregarding the chemistry of Hyde/Jackie and not keeping them together to the detriment of the show. But this is worse because at least Fez had a history of chasing Jackie that was endearing. The prior Dylan and Haley history the chemistry was very underwhelming and was only good at all in contrast to the dynamic it created with the dichotomy of Phil approving versus Claire being very disapproving. And of course, that has limited relevance to Haley's overall evolution as a character and person.
