Deep point: There are positions we preferred before birth while in the womb, many unknowingly carry on these positions with how they sleep. It's personal. The position we ride in is personal, too. When you find it, it's right, and you just know it. May not work for others, but it does for you. Two separate examples here, BTW...

Yo, seasoned motorcycle riders, share your wisdom on this subject. Do you pull the clutch right away or do you use engine braking? Let's chop it up and figure out what the best, safest strategy is. Ride Safe 🏍

I do the pinky grip also. Feels way more natural and comfortable than grabbing a full hand of clutch or with the two finger clutch method. Also helps with knowing exactly where the friction point on my clutch is when I'm riding around at slow speed.

I love running through this bridge, I was nervous the first time because never been that high up! I don't exit either, I keep going, seems that the highway that connects to Vincent goes over again and it seems taller than the two lane road

Now I have to check out some of your other videos - my girlfriend just bought her first bike -Rebel 300 - and I’m teaching her how to do u-turns . For me coming from an ADV/naked bikes the cruiser is so different, and this one’s really low so I’ll have to really get her to pay attention to the zone along with good rear brake technique.

Being real though... if a person isn't paying attention, nothing is guaranteed to get them to notice you. Some car drivers will look right at you while they run you over and somehow won't see or hear you. Perception is not Comprehension.

I disagree with the wording, "Loud Pipes Saves Lives", because it's kind of a blanket statement. Taken as it is stated loud pipes will ALWAYS save you. If that is true you don't have to ride defensively. You can ride blind folded and the loud pipes will save you. But that is not true. It is probably true that there have been times where loud pipes have saved someone from an accident. Will it work every time in every circumstance? Very improbable if not impossible. For instance if a motorcycle could theoretically travel as fast as a bullet, it would be there before the sound. That's theoretical nonsense but let's take reality. If you are flying down the road at high speeds (speeding), you may have a collision before they even notice your loud pipes. Loud pipes will work best if you are operating at nearly the same speed as the other vehicles. Something else to consider. How many times have there been collisions between civilian vehicles and emergency vehicles running lights and siren? Those are louder than the loudest pipes. Yet they still collided. Sometimes the driver saying, "I heard the sirens but I didn't see them." or "I heard them but I didn't know where they were." or "I had my windows rolled up and my car stereo blasting so I didn't hear them." Loud pipes might save you in some circumstances but don't rely on them. Use defensive riding skills and practice emergency maneuvering such as emergency braking, swerving etc.

The gear shift lever is too high, which makes shifting really strenuous. Try lowering it incrementally until find the sweet spot where you have decent leverage both up and down.
@captratty2167Ай бұрын
Why ever shift to neutral? Leave it in first gear so you can bail if the car in your mirrors doesn’t look like it will stop. Always switch off in first gear so it doesn’t roll. Push it around the garage in first gear, holding the clutch, so you have instant braking. I do select neutral before starting from cold, but it’s usually not too hard to find from either first or second gear; sometimes rocking the bike slightly back and forward helps. Fooling around looking for neutral in traffic is a distraction. If it goes into neutral first try, good - if it doesn’t, don’t sweat it. Clutches don’t wear out if fully disengaged.

@peergerber7609Ай бұрын
Never safe to ride on the shoulder, especially when cars can suddenly squueeze you into the guardrail... and this rider did not look for another rider before entering it... also, the rider behind was riding too fast

There is no safe way to lane split. Dumb move every time.
@neilrodas1549Ай бұрын
If you go slow? While lane splitting, would be safer?
@NicksFrictionZoneАй бұрын
I respect ur take, but i disagree. I believe lane splitting can be a safer alternative, given: 1. Road conditions are optimal 2. It's legal (some places its not) 3. your riding skills are adequate to do 4. you practice common sense

Everyone that pulled out in front of and hit a biker said the same thing, “I never saw him”. So having a loud pipe riding a wheelie with your hair on fire might make people flip you off, but they saw you didn’t they! Ride on Brother.

Loud pipes let drivers know a motorcycle is coming thru. It’s more respectful than honking when splitting lanes here in California

Don't know. I do know this the basic things like who has the right away and who must yield has been thrown out with the baby and the wash water. With stereo blasting, yacking on the cell phone of distracted by texting loud pipe might make a knee jerk reaction causing a bigger wreck. Oh and lets not forget them lovely video screens in the dash to take your thought process.
@frederickcoffell1768Ай бұрын
I am so sick of everyone saying lately that "Loud Pipes do not save Lives!!" Just like wearing a helmet, wearing gear, having lots of lights on the bike, wearing Hi-Viz, covering your brake, etc..... Of course there is no " one single thing" that will guarantee you will not die on a motorcyce, but ALL of these things can HELP you stay alive. INCLUDING loud pipes. Saying "loud pipes DO NOT save lives" is no different than saying making yourself more visible on the road "Does NOT save lives". It is ignorant.

From personal experience I disagree with their study. As a daily rider here in Los Angeles I used to have close calls of drivers switching lanes into me almost every other day on the highway who couldn’t see me when I had my stock quiet exhaust on. After switching to my loud Vance and Hines I haven’t had any issues with that any more 👍
