Do we need any other pre-existing wall ports outside of the usual power ports for these gadgets? I'm on the idea fence of getting my own personal internet plan with Aussie Broadband. As the NBN Telstra my parents pay for don't and can't give me the internet speed I need. But I'm not sure if I need anything else in my PC room other than the power ports to plug up everything. I hope to hear from you soon and thanks for your time.

The dsl port is use for nbn FTTN if you have FTTC FTTN OR HFC you use the you plug one and into the back of the nbn box and one ending into the WAN Port on your router for further information you best to speak to your ISP

and where do you put the router? just leave it hanging off the wall? then how is wifi meant to be strong when this is all in some back cupboard in a storage room in the apartment? no, i'm not running cables throughout the apartment.

The router (since it is all in one) or a separate access point needs to be somewhere reasonably central to the location. Just leaving it in some back area or a closet or something like that will result in not very good Wifi coverage, especially in a house.

Not used to having to pay massive upfront for a modem/router 😅 In UK you get great speeds and consistency on Fibre with $0 hardware/installation costs

It's the internet providers who determine how fast your internet speed is based on your plan. Not NBN

So I went to the Aussie Broadband site to test what type of connection I would have. It said I can have HFC. But then the listed available plans include speed up to 600 Mbps download....is this video outdated?

Video is titled "How to use the new MyAussie app" but all it does is very briefly run through what's on the app, which everyone can see just by looking at the app, and doesn't explain in any way how to actually USE the app.

I just called your sales team with quite a specific technical question, and the guy answered it no problem and with no pressure to join up. I felt zero anxiety that I might have to rephrase my question so the guy would understand it. For anybody who's interested, the question was whether you can use your own router with an external ATA. Some ISPs block you from doing this. The guy I talked to said yes, you can use your own router, ATA, anything -- they will give you all the settings you need. Fantastic.

I have been with Aussie B/B for a number of years. Was so much better when I lived in Melbourne as I had cable. Now I have wireless in the country. Sometimes good sometimes NOT so good. I blame LNP for their failure to deliver re" Cable to all households in OZ. Hell, I blame them for allowing us to remain in the past. Such a pack of incompetent Politicians>> as are those who voted for them.

Am really thinking about joining Aussie BB cos am paying way too much with Optus just for 4G backup and if I want more speed, it costs me over $125PM. Goodbye Optus!

Do you have NBN backup with your Aussie BB service? Cos I'm paying too much with Optus just to have that 4G backup in case the internet ever goes out.

Love it, please stick to it. Was a customer with iiNet for 20 years and prior to that Ozemail before Ozemail was purchased by iinet. iiNet service was second to none and they looked after their customers.....until they were purchased by TPG. Then the service level dropped and I felt like a number when calling for support on outages.

Here's my experience. This is legitimate, and actually something I'm still tackling. We moved into our dream house, and I've been through TPG, MyRepublic, Belong and Vodafone in the last 18 months. By far the worst was Vodafone. Not necessarily speed or reliability wise, but their customer service is actual f**kin joke and I simply could not believe I was going through those hoops in this day and age. My line isn't great. In fact, it's awful. I get 16mbps down if I'm lucky, and 0.6 upload. As soon as Aussie Broadband noticed I wasn't getting the speeds I wanted (keep in mind I'm at my wits end at this point and didn't even report it because I accepted I have shit NBN) they emailed me to ask for a time and a date for an NBN tech to come out. That happened, and the tech was actually a proper legend. He said he was going to "the pillar for 15 minutes" and came back 3 hours later saying "a lot of problems, it's fixed". Sure enough, I was hitting 40mbps. Still not incredible, but I'm stoked either way. Unfortunately, my sync dropped out for about half an hour, a few days ago. When we got back online, it's back to it's awful speeds. This time, I emailed Aussie Broadband - they responded within 20 minutes, validated that my speeds aren't acceptable, and now we've got another tech coming on Monday. I don't know the intricacies of it but from my understanding my line is a bit of a patch job so it keeps getting taken or modified for new or existing connections. It's not the ISP's fault my shit isn't working, but I tell you with full confidence Aussie Broadband is doing what they can to get it sorted. I know this comment reads like an advertisement but I assure you I'm a normal dude just wanting a stable connection.

I have just purchased an Orbi Wifi 6 mesh setup with 2 satellites for better wifi coverage for my house. I have NBN FTTP. Given that my NBN box acts as a modem, can I just plug directly into it with my Orbi router???

Aussie Broadband is awesome. When other major providers couldn't help me, Aussie Broadband stepped up and took control of the situation. Their customer service has been outstanding. Second to none. Other telcos would do well to take a leaf out of the Aussie Broadband book!

I'm starting to realise this a little too late, What this company is trying to accomplish is establishing an Australian based call centre and support in order to fool us into buying their products just because they're aussies and once they have enough customers we'll start hearing from people in India, I don't trust any call centres in India with my information because their government obviously don't give a crap if it's a scam center and their police are Bribed to turn the other way, slowly but surely I'll start hearing people from India answering my calls.
