I am spending a lot of time trying to educate others about this. So many adults genuinely believe they cannot do maths . And I want to show them that I can help them as I fully understand this .

Thank you for making this video! I have dyscalculia and my math teacher and guidance counsellor never takes me seriously! They think I’m making it up. For example, my math teacher hands me a test, assignment, etc.. I explain to him that I do not learn from being given packets of math assignments. He, on the other hand, telephones my parents and tells them I’m a “dramatic” and “lazy” individual. I’ve been struggling with dyscalculia all my life and it hurts to know that nobody believes me. I hope this video educates other teachers watching this video and grants them understanding of dyscalculia. To all math teachers reading my comment, your fellow students with dyscalculia aren’t lazy or uninterested in math, they have math anxiety and have a literal neurological disorder. NEVER ASSUME! if you’re not fit for students with dyscalculia or other disorders, do not be a teacher, thank you.

I find this National Numeracy Day very interesting it helps you how to manage your budgeting, finances and how to spend it wisely. Katy Watts says I had number of A Levels in Maths and didn't get graded in her days and must be shocked. Katy Watts you are doing a good job, Mr Johnson,, Clear Barrett, Abi Foster and Mr Sims you have been a Maga star. I like about you are talking about well-being since the covid-19, money pensions and other tips as well. Not many people can do Numeracy and 80% said to be struggling. I am not among them. Numeracy Team keep up the good work.

This was a big thing for me as a kid, I got diagnosed really early, but I dealt with so much embarrassment all because I was struggling with the same maths as my peers. New things took so much longer to grasp and often lead to me just giving up in frustration because I couldn't picture in my head how a times table worked or how division worked. Now I look back on it as an adult, I've realised, I wasn't a failure at maths, it was that I didn't get the support I needed and I just genuinely was facing an uphill battle without the proper tools at my disposal.

For me it was always algebra, fractions and counting money on the fly. Some of the other things it affects are affected moreso when I'm exhausted, I'm not talking like regular tired, I mean "I've been awake for over 24 hours" kinda tired. I often describe it as my brain needed to be trained to always be running at 110% when it came to reading letters and numbers. If I lose focus I start to notice the merging, blending, shifting of numbers a lot more than usual.

What like about the financial expert beauty queen Iona Bain who had been suffering with dyscalculia since her childhood. When she became a teenage, she became a performer in Maths and now she becoming a ambassador for National Numeracy. When I watch you on TV Morning Live Iona Bain you always keep up informed on money news and also give them best ideas what to do. Iona Bain you are super smashing beautiful and keep up the good work on and off the field. What a role model.

I have dyscalculia myself and was diagnosed when I was just going into primary school. My school life wasn't easy at times due to my slow learning but things got better as time went on. today I am 27 years old but still find it hard when counting change or even playing maths games with people or board games if it has money involved. I can only read a digital clock. I find it embarrassing at times that I cant understand how numbers work. But I am better than I was and am always improving slowly each day. Thank you for this video its nice to know that your not the only one who has this difficulties.

Just like me. I absolutely struggle with my times tables, I got a U in maths😫. Everyone else who doesn’t struggle with Dyscalculia will never truly understand the anxiety it causes when someone is asking them to memorise their times tables. Being picked on at school, and it doesn’t get much better as an adult. I’m knowledgeable on my interests, but when I hit a math obstruction, I just give up.
