Would this be a similar process to applying your wiping varnish? Also, would foam brushes be acceptable? If not, how do you clean your brushes? Sorry for all the questions.

You need to use wiping varnish sealer before wiping varnish and you can wipe it on and wipe off or brush on and wipe off. You can use foam brushes, to clean a regular brush use mineral spirits. Hope this answers your questions

Great video! Been waiting for this one. Love the product. Question: after you scuff sand, and you apply the next coat, wait the 20 minutes, when you wipe the excess off do the scruff marks disappear? If so, what happens or has happened if they don’t? Thanks

Between coats, use 400 grit paper or 0000 steel wool until there is a scratchless haze over the piece. If the scuff marks are still there as your coating, wipe off the finish and scuff again.

I'm curious if you have any products that chemically bonds to the previous layers of finish.

StopLossBags stop oil finishes from going bad because you pour out what you need from the bag, then squeeze out any bubble before tightening the cap.

Great Video! I have some 130 year old windows I'm restoring. They were painted but I want to just let the wood show on the inside when I reinstall them but repaint the exterior portion. Which of your products do you recommend? I'm looking for something lower on the gloss scale. Also, can I put your product on over top of boiled linseed oil? Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the video! I would use our Murdoch's Hard Sealer and the Table Top Satin. This will give you a well protected surface with a lower sheen. See the procedure on page 3 of this link www.sutherlandwelles.com/pdf/projects/Kitchen-Bath-Cabinets.pdf

Thanks for the video...your products are the best. I've been making furniture for 30 years, have tried many different finishes...I came back to Sutherland Welles about 6 years ago...it's the best.

Very well done. Curious what you recommend for a Hickory Hardwood floor? Something that can withstand heavy traffic.

We would definitely recommend the Murdoch's line, which is our hybrid of Polymerized Tung Oil and a urethane alkyd resin. It's our most durable coating. You can see the application process by following this link on our site sutherlandwelles.com/pdf/projects/Floors-Murdochs.pdf. Thanks you for your interest in our products.

I definitely prefer oil over acrylic finishes due to their ease of maintenance and look. I love the amber hue you get with oil. Plus, from what I hear, maintenance coats are difficult on water finishes. I know a guitar builder who says the only thing you can do with a damaged water finish is to strip it and replace it with nitrocellulose lacquer.

I can't wait to see footage of what your different finishes look like. I'm curious of this before I order some. I am trying to get into luthiery, mainly doing guitars and mandolins. I was thinking Waterlox, but yours seems to be a better product, from what I've read.

There are more to arrive soon. Lots of filming next week. We have a huge group of instrument makers that use a range of our products. I think you will enjoy working with them! Miss Mary
