This is a great idea and lookey lookey, I have 3 of the vinyl bedding cases. 😂 Wasn't exactly sure what to use them for, but I've had them for several years. Perfect project. I love your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the tutorial. The petals were confusing for me (a total newbie), because you called them dc, but I looked closely and the stitch was missing a yarn over with taking off 2.

Hello! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!! You are WONDERFUL! Because of your video, I was able to fix my auto threader. I saw how you took the little part off, and so did that with my machine, straightened the pin, and voila! Now it works! I got my machine only 6-7 months ago and at first the needle threader didnt work--never did from the start. I brought it to the shop where I purchased it and the tech there fixed it for me. It worked for a few months, and then stopped working. I brought it back to the shop but the tech was out sick, possibly for awhile, and the owner is now repairing machines, but he confessed, he just cannot see the pin, which I couldn't either when it was attached to the machine. So, apparently he didn't know the little part comes off!!!!! I'm so elated. I have such a hard time using the little threaders, and the shop owner just doesn't understand why this is SUCH A BIG DEAL to me! Well, leave it to a woman to fix a woman's machine!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! P.s. I'm gonna order some of those threaders like you did. YAY!!!!!

Shiny side of PUL is the food side? Correct?

Either side if food safe per manufacturer's website so it's up to you. I think shiny side is easier to wipe clean. I've seen either sides being used. Happy sewing Mechelle!

One tip would be to use a larger stitch size so the vinyl doesn’t perforate and tear apart. I don’t remember the exact stitch size.

I'm just beginning to sew with jelly and clear vinyl. Everything was going great until I went to box the corners and my machine refused to sew through the double layer of clear vinyl. It handled the jelly ok, but the clear TPU was horrible. My TPU was from Amazon just to test it, so I'm wondering if that makes a difference, but it looks to be a similar thickness to what you're using here. It didn't give a gauge, but says it's 0.4mm thick. It kept leaving a nest on the bobbin side no matter what I did. I changed my needle from microtex 80/12 to vinyl to leather needle. I changed my foot from Teflon to walking foot. I tried changing the tension up and down. I used some tear away stabilizer on the top and then the bottom. I changed my thread from Coats and Clark polyester to Gutterman polyester. Nothing worked. If you have any other ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks for the tutorial! I might make one completely out of jelly if I can't get it to work! :)
@LaughSewCreate
@LaughSewCreate 6 ай бұрын
Hi Holly, how frustrating. It sounds like you are going down the checklist! Have you tried a walking foot? or maybe a thinner gauge TPU. Some sewing machines just don't like thicker substrates. I haven't tried the jelly but in watching videos it seems like it would be stickier and harder to handle than TPU. But since you haven't had issues with it I'd try a thinner TPU or a walking foot. Keep us posted so we can all learn.
@hollylange3447

Hey there. Thanks for getting in touch. I did try a walking foot also and had the same issue. I'm waiting on some different clear TPU vinyl to come and will update if that works better. :)@@LaughSewCreate
