I would like to see something similar to these Finnish breakers on the Great Lakes as well. Unfortunately I don't think these ships could physically get into the lakes because their beams are 82 feet wide. Wouldn't fit through the seaway locks. But it'd be cool to have one constructed in similar design. Instead of that ridiculous bouy tender design

Olemme varmaan maailman parhaimpia rakenrtajia lavoille. Tietenkin nykyään suurin osa rakentajista tulee muualta. Ehkä olemme parhaita myymään näitä isoja laivoja? Se on harmi, että nää isoimmat laivat, joita voitaisiin rakentaa Suomessa, ei mahdu sillan ali.

Failed that hard freshwater test....she was going so slow that the sailors on the "stuck" vessel would likely have frozen to death by the time she got there....yes, my fireplace is warm, my bourbon toasty and my tootsies nice and comfy in my new slippers.

@@sebastiaomendonca1477 I must have missed them in my eight years living at sea year round, often needing the help of icebreakers when we were in the Arctic circle - think Baltika is beautiful and moves gracefully 🙂

Сейчас многие арктические суда , выпускаются с двигателями ( озиподами) которые вращают винты на 360° , теперь он не только может идти в перёд и назад , но и боком и под любым углом ломая лёд во круг себя .

I have to admit... I fully expected the screw propellers to sustain significant damage - both from broken ice below the hull, and from breaking/unbroken ice when backing... You MUST explain how you avoided damage to the pods and screws! (Please?)
