TBH, it was only Imperial Japan who actively tried to destroy the US. The Nazi Germany was only busy in the European stage. The US then, was more of an invasion force, helping the UK pushing back the Germans from the BeNeLux, Scandinavia, and France back to Germany. Japan, on the other hand, destroyed Pearl Harbor, invaded Guam, The Philippines, and some other US Territories. They also had plans to invade the US West Coast, but was hindered due to distance, and the war of attrition in the Pacific Theater.
@tea.andagoodbook
@tea.andagoodbook 2 ай бұрын
This is very true, but Germany did have an ultimate plan of invading North (and I believe South) America. Also, this book didn't have many writers from or about Japan, so we focused on the European Theater.

This is impressive and here’s why: A young person,typically has NO interest in history. With that said,Kudos to you both! I am currently in the process of helping a father and son,who live in Guernsey (look up THAT Ww2story!), They found a Vietnam helmet that belonged to a certain Jeffrey Rupp. He was killed in 1969. They have managed to contact his sister,and the helmet will come home in august. He’s buried in Wisconsin,but he was born in Bay Village Ohio,a mere 20 minutes from my home. Just thought I’d share that

One other thing: I’m a mudlark. I have a special permit that allows me to go to London,and walk the shore of the Thames river. I have found things from Roman times,I literally have a box of white clay tobacco pipes dating from the 1600’s to the early 1900’s. However,I found something very profound in 2022. It’s a piece of shrapnel,anti aircraft,that fell into the river in the war. I know it is shrapnel because it is scored like a chocolate bar,or some tea cakes! This thing may have passed through the fuselage of a German airplane,perhaps even through the body of one of the flight crew. It is very,very sobering to hold in my hand,and think about that.
