ha! i had one of those back when they first came out, and i'm almost *certain* that pintandwefall (kzfaq.info/love/ab_Z25ud5UybDetcPXiAmg) use one in their song "panic disorder".

I was lucky to have this as a kid. Adored it and used it for a long time before the batteries leaked all over the LCD display and the internals. What a shame.

I love how this sounds, and I really don’t understand why so many people here and elsewhere are putting it down. It’s such a work of creativity and love from one of the synth geniuses of our time.

Both my younger brother and I had one of these as kids. I know I used to mess around with it quite a bit, but I never really had piano lessons, so the most I could do is play a bit of chopsticks and, later, the start of "Axel F". I don't recall if it survived my childhood, but I like to think it did, as I started taking care of my electronics a bit better by then. I seem to recall that my brother's might not have been Casio branded, but maybe Tandy or another Radio Shack brand. Not sure, though.

@David Hilowitz Music This is a step backwards! Why not digitally use physical modeling? You could have a variety of materials, shapes, resonators, filters, etc.

The reason why a detailed electrical circuit diagram was included is that if your device breaks, you will take it to a general repair shop, where they won’t figure it out without the diagram, but they could fix any device made in soviets if you bring them related diagram.

I had one and used it as the bass guitar on a band connected to an amp. BTW, it was a merengue music band.

OK, this is super cool! I love that you can choose your own resonators. I also like the idea of 3D printing faceplates and stuff too. THANKS for making this into a plugin instrument!! I wonder if the birds liked the sound from the synths. They seemed pretty comfortable with humans around. LOL

OMG !!!!! The KZfaq algorithm has done me right... !!! So random, yet so wonderful And thank you for this video I have been wondering and looking for references to this for the past years... Could not remember how to find it. I grew up with this and was lucky to experience it, but never really took advantage of it and never realized it's capabilities... I wish I still have it now so I could share it with my kids...
