don't agree for any thai monk should have a mobile phone I think it's a distraction. there are the land line phone if any needs for a communication & thai monks should not be out in night markets either

I like Thailand because of its natural beauty. But I don't value the people here. I learned a lot of bad things about their culture. They are superficial, dishonest, and manipulative. They only want the money. For some reason They know that tourism is important in Thailand. But they still refuse to study Western languages. They will not forgive poor Thai pronunciations, they have no idea how hard their language is. don't go to Thailand for socializing, it's a waste of time. Unless you're a masochist.

FYI, the Portuguese and British influence Thai culture a lot also. Example on the architectural buildings like the Grand Palace and the parliament building

The thing annoys me in Thailand is guys sitting in bars with no shirt on. What is the Thai view on this? I imagine this is also disrespectful ?

Plenty of racism against Indians. Was there a few yrs ago and it was there is a very subtle way. The rudeness of the replies . The shortness of the answers . The needless suspicion with which they viewed Indian ppl. Even in hotels where v stayed the hotel receptionist was not willing to believe that v had already checked out of one room and only used two other rooms v had booked. There was a new receptionist the next day and all she had to do was call the receptionist who was there the prev day to confirm the check out but she kept arguing a lot. Finally I threatened to call up some influential Indians in Thailand and when she didn’t believe me and I finally did it was quite the shock for her. This was just one incident . It’s a country which worships white Westerners but doesn’t treat non whites the same way. So all those smiling pleasant faces and pictures r for white ppl . Not others .
