I had an art teacher who didn’t like the manga and anime style she ripped up my drawing once it really hurt me because it took me hours to draw it needless to say she got fired for other reasons but she traumatized me the new teacher encouraged me she liked the anime manga style but she also told me to also learn to draw backgrounds because backgrounds enhance the character, I draw my characters and I still draw manga and anime but also I learned to draw the backgrounds, clothes, shading etc and let me tell you manga and anime are art! Yes it’s not traditional art but it’s art and those teachers who said it isn’t art clearly havent attempted to draw the art style because it’s hard to draw it well and I know we had to learn to draw the traditional style but we shouldn’t ignore or discourage the person for their art style

Hello, there! I know you probably won't see my comment because this is an old video, but I want to thank you for this. This video is actually how I started to figure out that I want to teach art. My original plan was to go to college for art, and my goal was to do professional character design and related stuff for my job. You helped me learn that I also really want to teach it to others. The Black Star is definitely the "smoothest" for no nonsense calligraphy application by dip pen. This, plus its waterproof quality (say for addressed envelopes) and light fastness (archival manuscripts) sets it apart from most others in my opinion.

I know this is an old video but, I want to tell the story of my awesome art teacher, I had an AP art class with her and she was very supportive of my art style. Which was a mixture of anime combined with comic books , at least that was the reason I kept a dream journal because she wanted to see how I could take my dreams that I have and turn it into a comic book. It was honestly fun and I kept a dream journal for quite some time, but yeah I will always appreciate how she would guide me through the world of art and helped me with my proportions, in fact that very same teacher was also my homeroom teacher. Anyways I basically just here to brag about my arts teacher.

It’s interesting that people like to criticize about anime character’s eyes because in reality, they are based off of Disney’s Bambi. Japanese people loved Bambi’s eyes and that’s literally why anime characters have their huge eyes. I don’t mind the huge eyes because of the expressions that they can clearly show, versus actual human sized eyes, which sometimes you can’t clearly see what the person is doing with their eyes, like rolling them.

Really like the review and it was super entertaining. Had me laughing a few times. I am still trying to figure out if I want the Slate Mini or the Darsie Beck field easel. Like you said they are both a little pricey but I would say worth the money, you just want to make the correct decision the first time and not have to worry about having to buy the other. They followed me at first then try to block me a few weeks later (she couldn't block anymore) and notified me with a bloody image of my page saying "I will kill LordOfSloths!", "user 666," and a "bad user." Hell, I even have an extremely bad drawing using my pfp in their "diss" art. This kid seems to hate a lot of people even well-known people lmao. Wow, I didn't know my art is good??? All my close friends are artists. The only time I can think of where someone asked me to make free art was before I started selling art. When I started selling art she was the first to buy some. (Took two months to drag the money out of her hands though lol. She can be very forgetful.)

I honestly can’t stand some art teachers. I’m in college and I’m majoring in fine arts. I have to do an art show for my senior exhibition and some of my art teachers love to talk shit about my artwork. Many of them are just harsh and they just can’t accept my idea. Many cases when they criticize me they seem to be too harsh by saying I want to know the real you behind your artwork. The artwork that I’m doing is about superheroes and they will be based on my superhero character creation. The main theme behind my artwork is that superheroes strive us to be better by turning our skills for good purposes. My art professors are saying that I need to do more research and that my art isn’t that good. There “criticism” just makes me feel like a shitty artist

Digital art can never be real it's always going to present to self as a fake art because it doesn't have the same values or holds the same values as traditional art! What makes art are is going to be that word that one word that one word that is known as unique it needs to be unique it cannot be duplicated with copy and paste. That copy and paste the values the art that you're creating cuz they can be copied multiple times it creates less value for that art that piece of art. And they're not the same thing I mean go ahead and climb one of those scaffolds and paint an entire building then do that on a computer it's not the same thing. Digital art is simply just another form or rather another tool for you to use just like a paintbrush just like a canvas just like your pencils your books the floor the walls it's just another tool nothing more nothing less but the art that you create with it although it may be fake can still be considered art but not real art.
