Unfortunately, right now all we have is in person training with some online Metallic Epoxy courses being developed. Hopefully in the future, we can have an international program, but we do not have anything in place for that yet.

How do you prep before spraying Coval epoxy floors ? Thanks
@floorrescue13 күн бұрын
I've done many metallics with that product and what I learned a few years ago is that ceramic coatings such as this one needs to be finished at a high grid and there can be no scratches below a 400 grit which is hard to do on resin. Norton makes some Sandollar sandpaper that goes to ultra fine which would suffice for the spray that product

What's the cost of this vs tile per sqr ft? It looks beautiful
@floorrescue3 ай бұрын
Metallics run $10-$15/sft typically. More than most tile.
@dan2733 ай бұрын
@floorrescue so is that due to material mostly or surface prep-work? We're currently building and have not decided on floors, so all option are on the table
@floorrescue3 ай бұрын
@dan273 materials run $3-$4/sft typically. Equipment to perform the work, generally a set up between $20-$30K. Company overhead for skilled people and labor another 30% of margin. Not everyone who installs is the same. Different levels of experience, quality and artistry.

Whats the benefit of using a t-bar vs a squeegee?
@floorrescue3 ай бұрын
I’ve installed many. Squeegee drags somewhat. T bar pivots and flow easier in my opinion.
We had this done to our kitchen floor. In one week it started lifting. Company we used said it was not their responsibility. Tile company came in, removed it and layer tile for us. Would never even think of doing this again. Concrete floor, no cracks and it came off like nothing.
@floorrescue4 ай бұрын
We’ve never operated like that in 20 years and always stand behind our work. I am sorry for your experience with that company, but they have no business even being in business if that’s how they handle things.

There is a reason epoxy is not used on floors. A. It yellow horribly from sunlight, which means these floors are going to look dirty forever B. Damaged portions cannot be repaired as with tiles/linoleum, concrete or planks. If something drops onto this floor, something heavy is dragged across, you will have to live with the scratches forever, unless you pay for an entirely new floor. C. Epoxy cannot breath with the building, flexability of floors is how they remain structurally integral, your walls and foundation is going to shift while your floor stays still. Unstoppable force meet a crackable and high tension floor. Its a super expensive and terrible idea. Do not get epoxy flooring. Its terrible for the enviorment and your wallet.
