I wish I could but mine has bolts attached to the catalytic converter that would have to be drilled out to make that contraption work properly but it is a good idea.

Drill em out! Bolts on an exhaust only go in one way, when new! Old bolts always get ground down to uninstall em, basically rust at that point 😂

@@BuildYourOwnBass thanks for the advice I wasn’t sure if I could do it without making another problem. I broke a bolt that holds the fuel tank strap and it’s a NIGHTMARE to drill out, hence why I’m reluctant to drill out any more bolts but my buddy has a different idea. He says to get a piece of pipe that has the flange on it and he’ll attach it to the exhaust somehow idk how but he knows what he’s doing.

Mechanic here! This is improper repair, if a shop charged labor which is close to 100$ in this economy for this crap they are scamming you. Cut it back and weld in a pipe... This repair is going to leak and will cause more problems down the road.

Dealing with a 1997 Toyota Corolla. Only have one flange, and it’s on the catalytic converter itself. What do you recommend?

Did you get a new gasket too?
@yourfilipinololo1969
@yourfilipinololo1969 11 ай бұрын
Good question, the answer is YES. You can easily make your own and buy a gasket that you can make a template. Any autostore sells universal gasket that you can make your own.

My 2010 Honda CRV has those parts rusted and the repair guy told me that if they sell that part or could save me ALOT of money because they usually sell those parts with the exhaust itself so he told me that it saved me about $500 😅

I don't know about the price of $500, but it will save $200 to $350... if you have the whole thing replaced. My customer has a constraint budget so I gave him what he can afford and pass emissions. This would be a good idea if you're in a budget and later on replace it yourself with the use of saw saw , muffler u bolt clamps and pipe expander to fit the pipes without the use of a welder....

This is a 2005 Ford escape which was rusted on both lip flange. This ia basic repair on a constraint budget. This is a video on how to repair it if you're in that predicament. The model of the vehicle information is completely irrelevant. What I meant by it is it doesn't matter what vehicle you have.

It looks great. You may know this already, but your panel clips are in backwards. The pointy ends go in the channel and the loop is what holds the panel against the metal. Like this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eeB1dpWd0biqg2Q.html
