On my GB-98 test, in welding rebar. It states that you must clean oil off rebar and then over lap rebar X inches depending on diameter of rebar it's self.

Rio or rebar doesn't get welded, just use steel wire and crimp them together

Am i missing something, or is the cutting away part not inverted here? I would expect the remaining radius pieces to be the sum of all the small pieces of papers' width. But here the widths are marked and then cut away? And this only fits because the remaining pieces were approximately the same size as the pieces cut away? But i still liked the vid :)

Apparently magnetic squares are only "rarely known" to folks that can't put down a tack without sticking the rod (9:03). Running your ground line to a magnetic square isn't really useful, it just makes the square harder to deal with and increases the chances of misalignment. Just use an off-the-shelf mag square and stick a conventional ground clamp on it.

I hope you took every necessary pre-caution as the fumes produced from welding galvanized steel are quite toxic, i would honestly recommend putting a caution in your description, personally i would never weld galvanized unless it was absolutely necessary.

Okay, you beveled the rebar. Where's the preheat? Most rebar has a lot more carbon than structural steel.

also rebar contains too much carbon for good welding, there is special order rebar with low carbon for welding.

Oh where to begin . . . . . First and foremost you compromised the structural integrity of that mechanical tubing when you cut it and didn't fill the corners, so there's that. Second off you did not prep ANY surface, used a 6013 . . . looked like a 3/32 and didn't actually weld. All you did was take something somewhat strong and destroy it. Tacks are NOT WELDS . . . again TACKS ARE NOT WELDS. Those fish-eyes are stress risers and you probably have slag inclusions inside with them. That broken tack after you were done with the first side is what you're doing all the way across. Tacks don't penetrate and fish eyes don't hold. The only secret about what you did is that it's lipstick on a pig and people that don't know what they're looking at will think it's great. REBAR.
