I'm not calling for a boycott. They have many shows there that are beneficial to the car hobby. I was just mad about the situation at the time.

Give me a break. I was working in a hot building, trying to figure things out on the fly. I wasn't sure if the neg grounded to the housing or not. I don't normally run electric fans. Turns out the thermostat was sticking so it wouldn't have mattered if the fan worked or not.

I'm not calling for a boycott. Carlisle has many shows and it's easy driving distance for me. I'll go as a spectator to do the swap meets in the future.

I'm not going to court over $70 and a car show.

Everyone was frustrated waiting in line in the heat. The last thing I wanted to do was add to that.

Beg to differ. With only 503 Dodge Charger Daytonas ever made and with them bringing between $750k and $3 mil, I'm sure someone would gladly buy a clone for $80k. Who cares what the paper in the window says, the entire thing will be '69 Charger skin with a Daytona kit on top. This car will be completely become a 440 powered Charger R/T with all new AMD sheet metal. All B bodies are the same underneath so literally the only thing that would differentiate it from an actual Charger would be the VIN.

I've been going to shows for 30+ years. I do it to see cars and do the swap meets. Sometimes I enter my stuff sometimes I just spectate. I don't care about classes or getting judged. None of my stuff is good enough to win usually anyway. That being said I rarely have had problems with people's attitudes. Certainty not snob type behavior. I don't have any idea what shows your friend goes to, but if he is happy with the car and likes driving it, why care what anyone else thinks? Who cares if it doesn't win trophies? The point of having a car is to have fun, not win a plastic trophy from China. Have him try local cruise nights.

@@QuickSpeedShop He met a few folks who were really nice , but for the most part he just didn’t have a good time at the shows. And he loves the car , been a little bit of a headache because it sat for minimum 10 yrs .

I did pay attention, I saw the condition when I bought it. I bought this car below market value. This video was a warning to people that may not know better what to look for. If they paid top dollar for a car like this and sent it to a shop then they'd have to pay a lot to have it redo the poor work.

Thank you, and I won't give up on stuff, just really mad about that particular situation. In my truck's defense, it the thermostat malfunctioning happened on that trip, causing the overheating and the boiling brake fluid. This truck has been on the road since 1999 and driven all over the eastern USA, over 35,000 miles. This is the first time in its ever had problems like this, countered by the extreme heat of the weekend. This truck towed a dragster 4 hrs to a show in Cleveland back in May with zero issues. Things happen and parts fail. It's not a trailered show truck, it's a daily driven hot rod.

I went and looked at it in person. It's a big block B body, hard top Mopar with $1600 worth of new frame rails and floors and up to date paperwork. I can easily fix it. They do not give these cars away anymore.

I'm not trying to ruin Carlisle, just pointing out a bad situation.

I film stuff good or bad. I have gone to Carlisle many times over the years and made several videos about recent trips there, all positive. This time I was planning on doing the same, enjoyed the show on Friday, supported the food vendors and swap meet vendors on Friday and planned on doing show coverage on Saturday. I really wanted to see the van display and was going to film all that. Then the craziness of Saturday happened. I had to include it in the video. What else was I going to do? I don't film for the fun of it. It costs me a lot of time and money to build cars to do things like this. I spent hundreds of dollars on my truck and trailer to travel to the show, over $200 on fuel, etc. Being barred entry with a trailer that was in all day Friday with no problems was a huge hit to me in more ways than one, and yeah, I was real mad about it. Do I want to put them out of business? No. But I wasn't just going to be like, "OK, no big deal, I'll just go home and pretend nothing happened either." It's over and done with and the fall out is what it is.
