Nice comparison. I think rocker may have something to do with it. I have a Pungo 120 and a Dagger Stratos 14.5. The Pungo has a nice, long, relatively straight keel, whereas the Stratos, whch js only 2.5' longer, has a lot of rocker, so the bow and stern turn up. If i dont out the skeg down, the Stratos doesnt trac well at all, because it's made to be easier to turn. The Pungo tracks loke a dream, and actually glides better. The difference is I cam taje the Stratos into deep, choppy waterz i can take it offshore, and I can roll it in surf. The Pungo has to stay on flatwater. The Stratos will hold more gear, like your Carolina. I'm glad you tested it, because I was wondering the same thing.

Make sure your rear drum brakes are adjusted, and I mean adjusted the “old school” way! The Toyota way is leaving way too much slack in the rear brake shoes, consequently the limited slip can’t activate properly, I drove around for several years with what I considered crappie Tacoma brakes, had poor traction in snow and off road trails, when I did front brake pads the rear shoes always looked new after 90,000 klm, I went to three different Toyota dealers for proper brake adjustment with always the same results, finally took the truck to a long time professional brake service shop, the manager said he sees this all the time with Tacoma’s, improper adjustment on the drums, he told me what they did and it was the same procedure we did since drum brakes have been around, adjust until light drag, go around the block use the brakes, come back and snug them up again until light drag! First light I came to I almost put my wife’s cell phone through the window, yeah brakes worked as they should and I actually noticed the LSD work for the first time since I owned the truck.

And my 23 TRD Off Road has LSD and a locking rear differential with CRAWL control. The thing I hate about LSD is that when one wheel slips and the other wheel grabs, the wheel that grabs will pull the rear end to the side

Just wanted to say thanks for such a quick, but helpful, review of the Pungos. I recently picked up a Pungo 120 and my cruising speed is about the same as what you reported. I had a Necky Looksha 14 touring kayak before the Pungo, similar to a Carolina 14, and I barely notice the slightly lower speeds in the Pungo 120. I may pickup a Pungo 140 sometime, because I've been so impressed with the speed of the 120. Actually when I got the Pungo 120 I figured it would be hellpful for the smaller rivers and creeks nearby, but have found it tracks so well it's actually not as easy to maneuver the creeks as some longer boats without such a pronounced keel.

Thank you for this video. I broke my patella on 2/6/24. I haven’t seen the surgeon yet but they say I have a displaced fracture of my left patella. I couldn’t stand at all for 3 days until I got Dr.Brace support brace on amazon and I stood right up when I put it on. I’m using a walker and getting around pretty good. I’m getting a second opinion about surgery.

Thanks for this video. I am nearly 70 and tripped, shattering my patella. Getting it to bend is no fun - so far I have hit 65 degrees (70 with help). The pain is bad. The doctor is talking about the MUA procedure. I just want my life back. At my first post-surgery appointment, my orthopedic surgeon told me to bend my leg “100 times” per day. The orthopedic brace was uncomfortable, but I tried to do what they told me. It is indeed a journey. Before my accident, I had signed up to join a karate dojo. So my long term goal is to be able to kick and punch again. (I had made it to 1st degree black belt in my 20s.)

To fix the LED hyper flash change the brake and or turn signal relays to LED Compatible ones. You can find them at any auto parts store. I actually heard about them from another KZfaq video😄 but I've done it to both my vehicles and it works! They flash at normal speed and work like before just with brighter LED lights now👍

Thanks for this video. Still are very few about this injury but lots of great comments here. I fell from my bike 11 weeks ago and broke my right patella. Too many pieces to fix so 60% was removed. Quad stretched some to get the tendon reattached to my baby patella. No block as sometimes the nerve is damaged and that can lead to many months of pain. I agree, post op pain was brutal after the first day. After 4 days of narcotics and not getting great pain control but having all the negative effects of the drugs, I went cold turkey and switched to NSAIDs and Tylenol. The first 2 weeks were very painful. At 2 weeks I was at 30* flexing and I pushed hard to get to 90* by week 4. 105* by week 6 and now it seems I’ve been stuck at 130* for a couple weeks. I’ve lost 75% of the muscle in my leg and I can tell this will be a long recovery even if I get full ROM. I took 2-3 Aleve a day for the first 5 weeks and ended up with a hypertensive crisis and renal damage. No real answer as to why as I’ve never had BP issues and was drinking a measured 96oz of water each day. Be careful with the NSAIDs. I’ve taken nothing since week 6. The pain is bad at time and I’ve used ice packs to help control it. So I agree, get some quality ice packs. If you’re unsure what to get, ask any PT. I’ve also found a muscle percussion machine helps to get the muscles loosened up. Mine was $40 and well worth it. I’m disappointed in my recovery so far as I want to be back in skis this winter. It’s a driving goal that everyone says I can do, but green slopes only. With only 8 weeks left this winter I’m really struggling to see how it happens. I can walk without my brace on level ground but only a hundred feet or so. I literally spend 5-6 hours a day working on my leg. Other notes… I was unable to drive for 8 weeks. Plan for that. Sleep has been hard. Some nights as little as 4 hours. I’m averaging 6 hours the past 3 weeks and feel like that’s a new normal. Before the crash I slept 8 hours a night. Showers were a pain the first 2 weeks. I didn’t bother more than 3 times. Foam tape and plastic wrap and a trash bag to be sure. I was told to get a stool but it didn’t work in my shower due to room. I did the high risk one leg shower. This is a rough injury but all these comments help me know I’ll recover “soon”. Thx!

I am pretty sure you got some numbers mixed up regarding the power of the dr200 vs dr125. You compare what the dr125 has at crank to what the dr200 outputs at the wheel. Dr200 has 15hp at the wheel and 20 at crank. Dr125 has 10hp at the wheel and 12hp measured from the crank.

Yes it is made in Japan at least. Solid quality on the dr200. Its weak point is the low performance the stock condition. It will go fast once you do a carb swap though.

Alexkram I suffered a knee fracture 1 month ago and underwent surgery. Now I am starting to do bending exercises at home and only rely on KZfaq as my inspiration. I'm 21 years old Alekram, may I ask if I can bend again like before?
@alexkram
@alexkram 5 ай бұрын
@@sepryarling2598 Both of my knees have the same max bend now. My broken knee makes a lot of popping noises but works fine. My quad muscles are still smaller on that side but I can hike steep mountains and I even biked across Europe and Oregon since then. My advice is when your PT gives you exercises to do at home, do them. I hope your healing goes smoothly.
