Will this cam go live again. Last year, it was April 7th. I read that Karl II is no longer with us, but there were others who visited the nest before Kaih arrived. Surely, there will be a new male and maybe female this year.

My beautiful, sweet, beloved Karlushka, your loss hurts so incredibly.💔You accompanied me through long days, months and years of every day, keeping me company when I couldn't sleep, I've had my joys and worries with you, I've watched the migration map every day and I've always been very happy when I found out you were okay. Did you manage to fly over the dangerous and war-torn Ukraine, replenish your energy for your next trip, and in the end your power lines were fatal. So very cruel 😭😭😭 You were an exceptional bird, a diligent, caring father, an excellent aviator and hunter! In short, you were king 👑 among the BS, you were dad of the year😘Thank you for the beautiful children of Oru+ and Aru+, Udu*?, Pikne+ and Tuul+, Waba, Voog a Iks + adopted youngsters Bonus, Kalvi, Kiir, Kerri. I hope most of them are alive and will continue to pass on your amazing genes. We will miss you incredibly much. Rest in peace Karlushka, I will NEVER forget 💞❤🩹

@susan morris, it says in the narrative description that this was dated 08 May 2020. Did you follow Karl II and Kaia's Storklets this past season? Only one of the three was fitted with GPS transmitter backpack and it left for Autumn Migration on 30 August. We're praying that its siblings are traveling with it. You can follow their migration on Bird Map and links are still posted on live chat of Must Tunne Kung- Ciconia nigra for the updates on Karl II's family heading for winter grounds in Africa or at least South of Turkey.

@@janajamer734 Hi @janajamer734. So nice to hear from you. Yes, I did follow this last seasons Stork family. I’m hoping to follow them again whenever their new season begins again. I’m sorry for not checking into the info and now I feel kinda stupid for thinking that there are new Storklets.🙄🤨. It’s nice to hear from you and also, I do check a lot of the website and if I’m correct, I think a lot of the info is in that Countries native language and I don’t know how to get the info in English or do they have a section for English speaking people? Thanks again and God bless you always. Sue M. Florida,USA ❤️🙏😊👍🏻❌⭕️

😭😭😭💔 I know they do this, but this is why I can no longer watch the storks. I always leave a like for you though!
@liznm-natur-channel11 ай бұрын
Infanticidal parents were caring for larger broods and laid larger clutches than non-infanticidal birds. Males killed the chick in 8 out of 9 cases. Victims were born from the last-hatched egg in 4- and 5-egg clutches, they were the lightest in their brood and grew at lower rates than their nestmates during the days preceding their elimination. The last-hatched nestlings in 4-chick broods had lower pre-fledging survival rates than their elder sibs. Potential victims contributed a low fraction to parents' reproductive output, and 4-chick broods were especially costly to raise because parents provisioned them both more frequently and for longer nestling periods. Hence, the presence of an extra chick seems to lower the benefit/cost ratio to parents rearing a large brood once its elder siblings have hatched successfully. If nestlings do not compete aggressively for food, parents would be selected to eliminate the extra chick themselves. This hypothesis could provide an explanation for the existence of parental infanticide also in other species". I can't set a link. But this are info from a three year study

What type of birds are these????? The blue ones that look like Turkeys and the smaller brown and white ones?
@Tuvi_the_birb6 ай бұрын
Both birds are the same specie (browns are female, blue-ish are male) and I believe they are called wood grouse in English
