Lovely work 😊 Love your TBM by the way; it looks very similar to my miniature lathe! ❤

Excellent modifications and running smooth over the points.

Very nicely done! Wonderful layout. Such a huge upgrade and wonderful reprofiling for a much better operation. My one caveat (as a real life engineer *train driver in UK terms*) is your mainline crossovers always have to correspond! Both either lined for straight or both for the cross! Once again very well done and thank you for sharing your hobby. Cheers from America

Oops, I missed that! No interlocking either. BTW, I am in America [MN]

Ok, so I had enough trouble with 4 wheel rolling stock in HO! But at least you can put a little bit extra weight in without to much trouble. You're in N guage, how do you do it? 🤔 great layout by the way, very well detailed for N guage, well done 👏👏👏👏😎👍

The curved point blade looks like it just needs the end of it bending a bit., it looks like the very end of the blade rail has been bent outwards and so it isn’t a smooth curve and it the kink in it will push the wagons off when running towards the points. It just needs the tip of the point blade bending inwards so to guide the wheels better I think.

You are absolutely right - what good eyesight you have! I did not bother to fix it as I knew I was going to relay that pointwork anyway. My main reason for relaying is to improve the slow running with the live frogs and to smooth out the S-curve into the goods shed. . . but I left the derailment in the video just for fun!!

Pardon my asking, but is this the full size railway? It looks like 00 gauge to me, but you could be some ten minute walk from the station.

Such a lovely layout. I did not realise it was N gauge at first! I thought it was 00 as the details are so good.

Thanks, both of you, for the nice comment. Yes, N scale has enabled me to get a much more realistic layout into the space I have available, but I do find that I tend to lose a lot of small parts into the black hole that regularly manifests itself between my workbench and the basement floor!

What is relaying?

I am putting in all new pointwork at this end of the station to smooth out the road into the goods shed, etc and to get better slow running!

Great way of getting more reliable running out of the mostly excellent Farish 03 making it excellent in the process!

Would it make any difference if some weight is added to the wagons to persuade them not to ride up on each other? I appreciate that this is harder to hide in cattle wagon but could save you relaying?
@dibsyardshuntinglayout11 ай бұрын
I add extra weight to mine but mine is 00 gauge.

I love the shot around 7 minutes because it looks like a partly cloudy day, with stronger sunlight hitting the foreground and perhaps the shade of a cloud over the station building and the hill behind it. (although I suspect that is the effect of the backscene board)
