Saturn doesn't have that valve or at least is not the same as the Acadia, the autoparts store tells me that 2007 saturn doesn't have PCV valve.

do you think the cooler fills up all the way or any thoughts it might have air pockets being that the lines are upside down? i know the factory one was upside down aswell but was also smaller

Protip here. If your going to cut your lines and most of us can not make a barb style connection on OEM cut line. Use a flaring tool and slightly flare OEM cut line. Make sure OEM line is very clean on outside since you are sliding hose over it now. The hose will go over the line and use 2 hose clamps to secure for every connection. It makes for a guarantee leak free connection

Try using a buffing pad on a drill method. Takes about one hour total. First, Cover painted surfaces with painters tape. Second, Coat headlight with light coat of the Flitz polish, wait about 5 minutes to allow the Flitz polish to draw out oxidation from the plastic, and Third Buff off polish with a drill buffing pad. Repeat the same procedure at least one more time for increased clarity and shine. This method works well to restore clear hard plastic such as automotive headlights.

GMC Terrain 2012. This worked perfect when I replaced on my wife's car. Couple of pointers for this make and model car. Seems GMC tried to be slick by placing the purge valve in a tricky spot so you have to go to the dealer and pay them 3-400$ to get it done. I was able to accomplish the job and here's how. 1st remove the engine cover by taking off the oil cap and remove the bolt that holds the cover down (rt next to oil cap area). Firmly grip the cover and pull it up. It is snuggly attached to 3 rods underneath but a firm tug should free it up. The purge valve is on the passenger side of the engine in the back. You will need to use a flat head screwdriver to loosen and remove the air intake tube (not a mechanic but I believe that is what it is). It's the big black tube thingy with ratchet brackets holding it tight on both ends. Remove it, it will be in your way if not. There is then an electric box maybe 2inch by 2inch (with wires coming out of both sides) attached to the side of the car frame. Pull this loose (it is attached to the side of the car frame by some blk plugs) push the box down and out of the way. There may be some other wires and things you want to move to the side. Otherwise you will not be able to access the bolt on the purge valve or be able to disconnect the plugs attached to it. When you have your way clear just follow the directions on this video by removing the plugs, loosening the bolt and pulling the purge valve out. Reverse the procedure to install the new valve and you're all set. Worked like a charm and save me a lot of money. Bought the valve for $50 (California) and the whole process took me about an hour which most of the time was spent figuring out where GMC hid the valve in the first place. Hopefully this saves you some time since you'll know where it is and how to access it. Cheers to the maker of the video!

How do you know which line goes to what hook up ? How much trans fluid did you have to replace? How much did it lower trans temp ?
@DIYwithPete
@DIYwithPete 8 ай бұрын
I pretty much used the same line that went to the left and right of the original one. I didnt leak a lot during replacing so I eye put a small amount then filled it to the line after warm up and running it. It runs about 25ish degrees cooler.

Its not as hard as it seems. I think the challenge was to bolt it to the frame and secure it. Only replaced the cooler with the oil lines going in and out.

PVC (:46 and 1:06 in the video) is polyvinyl chloride, a type of plastic. The valve you replaced is the PCV, positive crankcase ventilation.

I had the lightning bolt warning and had this fixed recently, maybe 3 months ago? Well the light is back on... any idea why something like that would go bad so quick? Maybe its a faulty part or something, but generally speaking, could something else be wrong thats messing the ETC up? Man im so annoyed, two things I just had fixed need to be fixed again...
