Alcohol was his worst addiction but I met him near the end, he was sober but then started back on the H. Which probably contributed to his aneurysm/brain haemorrhage. He was svelte in the last couple years...

I really like The Gun Club. It’s really been a long time since a liked a band this much. I can’t believe they started super early in LA scene. Well I’m stoked about JLP now.
Saw them in LA in the 80s . She was passing out on stage . They took her back stage for a minute . She came back 💯 🤣 .

I'd occasionally walk through the cemetary. It was a short-cut on my way to & from work at the Town Hall back in the 90's. You'd often see Tony 'The Don' walking in & around Stokey. He'd occassionally wander into The Jolly Butchers on the High Street for a drink on a Friday evening. Despite his impressive outward appearsnce, he was really quite a gentle and considerate soul. In the 10 years that I worked in Stokey, Tony always wore that same hat & coat, along with his large gold chain and his many gold rings. Quite the gentleman really. Thank you for making the film Marie, it brought-back so many of my memories of Stokey after all this time.

Tex & The Horseheads - ‘Lock Me Up’ (a.k.a. “Ice Cold Beer”) Lock me up and throw away the key, They tried to catch the very soul of me. So I ran through the mountains like a wild horse, The ground kissed my feet, while the stars steered my course, And I drank from the lakes of forbidden mysteries. But I'm not runnin' away... 'Cause I was never here to stay. It’s there where the mountains climb way past the clouds, And on that highest peak a castle lives. Well I roamed those rooms and let me tell you, they’re filled with nothing but enchanted gloom. I wanted to leave, but I had to stay. But I'm not runnin' away... 'Cause I was never here to stay. Well up from the sea came Isis and the twins, They sang such a song they started up the winds. So I ran back to the castle in fear, The court jester opened me an ice cold beer, But I sat through the follies of a spoiled king. But I'm not runnin' away... 'Cause I was never here to stay. Lock me up and throw away the key, They tried to catch the very soul of me. So I ran through the mountains like a wild horse, The ground kissed my feet while the stars steered my course, And I drank from the lakes of forbidden mysteries. I drank from the lakes of forbidden mysteries...
