Don't you think you're holding your Q too much?
@coffeenninja
@coffeenninja 9 күн бұрын
I don't think so, but can definitely see why it seems that way. Holding my 'Q' is inefficient and lowers my clear rate as opposed to using it off cooldown, since I end up taking more time to clear islands and farms. However, with Terra's Q being an extremely strong spell, I tend to hold it in hopes of being able to "hunt" Ents without the restriction of having spells on cooldown, as an Impale alone might not be able to do the job sometimes. Ultimately it's a trade-off between clear rate and having a stronger chase/hunting potential, and I would think that it depends on the players' preference on how sparingly they want to use their abilities. tldr: i am greeding for kills and sacrificing clear rate & efficiency as a result

Update: I've still been playing this RPG. This RPG is amazing and can take up till 50-60hrs of playtime. Currently on my 30-40th hour with the Shark character (Reached Pure Ruler #2), and also went to play a Turtle character on its 10th hour (Reached Deathwing) Let me know if any of you are interested in playing it and we could play together ^^

Update2: I've successfully completed this RPG on my turtle account. Total time it took was about 120hours of in-game time. I've also had the opportunity to try out other characters and brought my Shark to about 75% completion. I will be "graduating" from this game as there is no other content for me to explore. Raids near the end of the game becomes impossible to solo and hence would require a group of players to work together. Here's my tierlist of all characters that nobody asked for: 1. Whale - Strong DPS, Tanky, Sustain 2. Turtle - Tanky, Extremely useful in team raids due to its regeneration & defense auras that it provides for the team, Weak DPS, can't solo anything 3/4. Shark/Piranha - Strong DPS, but not tanky and scales off late game. 5. Jellyfish - Fun character but is a non afk-able character due to its kit heavily relying on casting spells to output damage. 6. Naga - Strong DPS, very squishy, little sustain 7. Murloc - Good for team raids, but scales off late game and struggles with soloing. Effectively a worse version of the Turtle. 8. Crab - VERY TANKY, little to no DPS. Basically just a giant shield :)

This is bad content and by no means made for anyone to watch/enjoy. I just wanted to upload the gameplay online for collections' sake. There is likely to be 10~ish uploads for this RPG. (Estimated 10h completion time). Will also upload these in 2 days interval so that it doesn't clog up anyone's feed.

Definitely have lots to improve on if I want to beat the highest difficulty. Some thoughts regarding this run: - Going Tinker hero provides a stronger base defense thanks to its Repair ability and also its Armor aura that it provides onto buildings. Tinker's cluster rocket ability is also a reliable source of damage, especially when paired with several Claws of Attack, allowing you to take out air units even without much army DPS. However, going Scout Hero might be the better option since it allows for the player to loot more aggressively thanks to their reduced looting speed and also increased movement speed compared to the Tinker. More loot = potentially higher snowball and also higher chances of getting high # of survivors. I tried going Scout for a few games but was very uncomfortable with having to micro builders to repair my defenses, and wasn't comfortable/agile enough with my micro to make sure my units stay alive. You can probably high roll on Scout and win the game in Apoc 2, but I am currently too slow (both micro and decision-making) to take advantage of Scout's capabilities. - Going priests instead of spearmen. Priests are cheaper than spearman by 300 lumber each, and their initial DPS isn't that terrible either. They have decent attack speed, which makes early claws a decent item on them. They also do magic dmg, which deals increased % dmg to abominations, which I find to be the biggest obstacle for the first 5 nights. Priest scales off terribly late game and no longer do much DPS since they're either buffing or healing, whereas spearmen are stronger late game as they gain attack speed, dmg, and also reduce armor of enemy units through their upgrades.

How the speedrun was achieved: - Bypassing the need to kill 2x bosses to enter Hell by exploiting the load/unload feature of Bunkers + farm hopping with Barricades. Bunkers strangely can be placed in cliffs and void spaces, allowing players to hop up cliffs, giving opportunity to enter Hell from the corner of the map. - Preparation Time + Daytime was spent collecting Lumber and all other resources necessary (Boots, Net, Animals) to make the run safer and more efficient - First Night was spent mining Copper and Stone whilst also crafting the Bunkers (requires ALOT of wood + stone + copper) - Attempted to enter hell on Day 2 after crafting the remaining resources (Spears, Torches, Barricades). - Once each player has entered Hell, Biski micros each player to walk a specific route which aggros 0 monsters [Because me and nva constantly make mistakes taking the route ourselves xd] - Once all 3 players are in place, we send Bear through the mines to take aggro on an inevitable Fire Goblin and burst down this goblin, and prepare the next bunker hop over the rocks. - Once through the rocks, mine -> bear trick to take aggro from the giant flaming Moltres, into Net, into all 3 players successfully making past to the Gates before the boss. - Manipulating the space outside of the boss area, we place towers and bunkers to take out the units and the boss without placing our characters in harm. The following 3 classes were selected: Beast Master - To facilitate the collection of resources for Boots & Net and also to have the animals for taking aggro in Hell. Animals also help as a safety measure to patch up any mistakes [See pre-entry into Hell] Medic - To heal players (and animals) whenever necessary. Highly important during the Hell trip as players take damage whilst going through lava. Miner - To speed up the resource collection process (for Copper mostly), so that Bunkers can be crafted on time without Copper being the bottleneck

Biski and I did another speedrun on Normal difficulty and we managed to defeat the game on the 11th night after making a few changes since this run. This run won't be uploaded but we are looking into doing it on Hard [More zombies spawning, less preparation time] and Nightmare [Less preparation time, no resources respawning]. Since this video, we have learnt quite abit and have optimized alot of our nights 1~5, and now we've reached a point where we both are well equipped to enter Hell the moment 2nd boss dies, which means the earliest we can ever enter Hell is during N10, adding 1 day to reach and kill the boss, means most speedrun attempts will end on the 11th Night.

GG, very fun tournament and I got to try a bunch of things and hopefully my gameplay is/was exciting to watch. Post-series analysis belowwwww. <SPOILERS AHEAD> - Game 1 00:01 : I played very well this game from T1-T3. Was experimenting some sort of new box 3 where it was extended, but had lesser towers. Worked pretty well in T1-T3 since Holy towers are insanely strong and I had shroom to defend against the air sends, but I guess it's still better to have a rectangular structure at the end since it leads to more towers (devourers). Maze length probably isn't as important as number of towers for dps/spells. - Game 2 35:50 : Rough game xDD, huge misplay in T1 & T2, leaking all those rot golems and wyverns. Should've aimed to play defensive but I was constantly edging on Red to upgrade his maze and defenses, which led to me having a harder time securing lives. Pretty satisfied with all other parts of my defense, had a few intense micro intervals. Looking back on this game, I understand that kamikaze-ing Red was my only play but I do NOT condone such an act. It's pretty douchey to ruin someone else's game. It all worked out and nobody is mad, but I hope I don't kamikaze like this in the future. - Game 3 1:18:00 : Pretty successful Glyph run. Got decent sends through and played pretty good defense. Ditched the extended maze and all-inned during the last shredder send and it worked out :D Very fun and exciting series. I am happy with my placing and also can see how I can improve from here on. Will link all the commentary videos into the description boxes for all the games played in this series once they're out. GG!!

Some post-series thoughts & analysis over the group dynamics and my performance. Also long break between Games 1 & 2 because we were trying to figure out the best way to get a good lobby for the 5 of us: <SPOILERS AHEAD> - Game 1 00:01 : I played decent this game I would say, although I was a very passive sender and basically gave Red a very smooth-sailing and easy game from T1-T3. Huge blunder to not have protected my chokepoints with shrooms (which I made the adjustments in Game 2) despite being in a dominant position. But was a good learning game. - Game 2 50:50 : Pretty smooth-sailing game. Light Blue was getting hard pressured by Wheat, which gave me plenty of time and space despite the tech being horrible (Devourer). Did a decent send in T3 onto Peanut to set his income back. Pretty satisfied with how the game went. The phoenixes at the end were in an attempt to take out Peanut because I assumed I was going to 1v1 Wheat instead. - Game 3 1:29:30 : Not very confident with vault tech to be honest. Contemplated going Crystals instead of Orbkeepers first and probably should've done that instead of going Orbkeepers. The YokNaJa maze capitalizes on the crystal angles but it also means that late upgrades hurt you alot. In this game, I basically caught on to the necromancers too late and when I finally had crystals, the necromancers were already too deep into the maze for me to take advantage of the maze setup. Very aggressive sends to secure myself a higher spot, but the necromancer misplay definitely played a huge part into it. - Polished up alot of my mistakes and aggressive blunders and playing a much more defensive and income-spamming playstyle in FFA definitely leads to better results. Will see if this pays off well in the next series to come.

Never seen pokebunny get behind on eco so consistently. How do you always get ahead. Just a curious watcher who doesn't know much about the game.
@coffeenninja
@coffeenninja 2 ай бұрын
I wouldn't necessarily say Pokebunny is behind on eco in all 3 games. The income difference is being made up by his increased maze value in most cases. I think the reason why the games favored me in this series could be attributed to two factors: 1. Pokebunny took a long break from LTW and was not really practicing for this tournament whereas I had the luxury of time 2. My playstyle was similar to Pokebunny in 1v1 (in the sense that we were both aggressive senders that traded lives), which prevented me from being bullied into a position where Pokebunny snowballed sends onto me into my death (see Game 1).
@thoughtrover6400
@thoughtrover6400 2 ай бұрын
@@coffeenninjaThanks for your reply and insight. I think my sample size of him playing is maybe biased because i watched his youtube and people prefer to post their wins. I dont know if he was as dominant as his videos suggested to me. I actually had some more thoughts about the income in this game. To me it seems like that since the updated version the income difference seems to progress slower then before and it made me wonder why. I dont know if that is because of diminishing returns of more expensive units, cd of eco efficient units or just the game being more competitive as people are more skilled in general. My innitial thought was maybe a little to simple as i thought you build a lead of compound interests from being more greedy then your opponent. For example i thought that he would get an automated head start because i think pokebunny doesnt build a full row of archers at the start and could snowball of that alone. But as you said sending aggressively and forcing defense can lead the opponent to either overspend on defense or opt into tower upgrades that are build faster but not as cost efficient. While sending to passive can boost the opponents eco because he doesnt need to upgrade towers. Also pressuring an opponent with a life lead seems to force more defense as it seems to me that you cannot overcome a big life lead in the late game with a 20% eco lead for example because there is a cap on what the perfect maze can defend.
@coffeenninja
@coffeenninja 2 ай бұрын
 @thoughtrover6400 Yeah your thoughts are mostly valid ^^ More expensive units have lesser income efficiency (For example sending a sheep gives you 1 income for 5 gold spent [20% efficiency] whereas sending a skeleton gives you 3 income for 20 gold spent [15% efficiency], and this value drops the more expensive the units become. In exchange for being less efficient, the units are of course, stronger and force your opponents to have to react defensively to make sure that they don't get overwhelmed and leak. Some other considerations include whether the game is being played in FFA or in 1v1, which may not seem intuitive at first, but in 1v1 games, incomes tend to be lower than in FFA games because players tend towards being more aggressive in 1v1 since there's only 1 opponent and hence you benefit alot more from crippling your opponent. Whereas in FFA games, you're more incentivized to just income spam and play defensively so that you don't fall too far behind income-wise compared to the other players in the lobby. Pokebunny is a legendary player and he'll always be playing at a top level if he decides to do so :D

Some post-series thoughts & analysis over the group dynamics and my performance: - This series was lots of fun. We had a variety of playstyles and good aggressive players who made sure nobody had an easy time heading into SD. - I think the absolute MVP of this series goes to Matcha (Hidden), and that he indubitably had the most influence over the flow of the game. The rest of us were pretty much passengers and reacting to his initiatives/decisions and that made the series crazy fun. - Game 1: I played okay here from T1-T3, nothing too significant apart from steadily preventing maktoob from taking lives. I did identify all the player positions somewhere in the middle of T1 and opted to go easier on Matcha so that he could cripple Woooeee. I attribute my win to Hidden doing an early shredder send onto Woooeee and crippling his maze progression, giving me an advantage into the 1v1 since I had prepared devourers for a longer stall maze. Also maktoob doing his shredder send late and getting his send cut off in my maze was a huge help too. - Game 2: Huuuuge blunders. Terrible maze development in T1, allowing myself to snowball into a huge deficit from leaking income spam knights & vengeance spirits. A lack of maze development and being at a desperate amount of lives spiraled me into making more and more mistakes throughout T2, till the point where it was unrecoverable and near impossible to get lives from woooeee who was on guard. I knew I was going to get wyrmed by Matcha and taken out before SD, so I probably should've opted to make my play onto Woooeee much earlier. Good sends by Matcha and if our positions were swapped, I would have done the same thing too ^^ - Game 3: Game went fairly smooth for me from T1-T3. Two huge blunders from me this game. Firstly being the fact that I had opted to do earth guardians before tidal sludges, which resulted in me being less prepared for crypt fiends and ultimately leaking a very costly 15+ lives. And secondly being me choosing to omit lich until much later in the game. If I had chosen to play more defensively in T3, I would've been able to wall off woooeee from taking the much needed 8 lives that he held on to during maktoob's first send in SD, and would have secured a 1st place for myself. - Overall it was a great and fun series, there's plenty of takeaways for me and I hope to perform better in the next series to come, and to also be as influential as Matcha :D

The game is very similar to hide & seek, but with a lot of additional features. The seekers (Infernals) have to capture all the hiders (Ents) within 50 minutes.

Relatively newb at this custom map but will seek to improve and get better at micro-ing and making decisions as I continue to play more of it in the future. So it is likely that there'll be more Werewolf Transylvania gameplay uploaded (and eventually one where I play Werewolf once I get confident enough). Also just for clarity: Was not privately teaming with anyone in particular. Had private messages with grey (Biski/Ardenrich because I was previously asking him a separate question). Eventually sussed out the werewolf player and going -war on that person based off a hunch ^^

Post-game analysis (inclusive of spoilers): \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Obviously 3v13 isn't the norm and as much as it seems impossible to win from watching the video and by looking at the crazy number of Ents & the ridiculous number of tree saves constantly being pumped in, I do feel that there is a world where Infernals are able to win 3v13 given the right preparation & discussion prior to the game. It's an uphill battle for sure, but that's what makes it fun and that's what people are looking for in a game like Tree Tag ^^ I think the optimal way to play in a tough game like this, is to disregard mid completely up until the last 5 minutes (vesuv's idea), and to slowly, but steadily control the map by isolating a particular corner, and then expanding from that area, funneling all the Ents to an area together, making hunting an easier and quicker process. With 13 Ents loose, I think there is also very little merit to picking a map control Infernal like Darkness, but instead maybe having multiple hunting Infernals that have access to quick snipes such as Terra, Pyra, are more valuable instead.

Definitely not a top/meta tech by any means, but I don't think the Alchemist tech is weak either. If better players play Alchemist and figure out how to optimize its strengths and mitigate its weaknesses, I'm sure it will be a fairly decent tech that might make it to people's top 4/5 techs. I would place this tech slightly around 6/7th position right now, slightly behind vault and around B-tier. Also didn't manage to play around much with the alchemist's other interesting ability (Ability to change armor type of units), was mostly trying to figure out transition between T2 -> T3 -> End Game.
