Quality video!! Heading there tomorrow , any tips?!
@loonanick40393 жыл бұрын
Hey dude, i haven't ridden there for around 3 or 4 years so it may have changed slightly (ruts and braking bumps) and it will be icey as fook there today so be on guard. They roads will be bad on route too. The trail itself is easy enough i think, some of the kickers can buck you so watch out for that and adjust your rebound accordingly and just commit and send it dude. I'll be over at pendle hill today with the ski attachments on the same bike as the video 🤟😁

Cool man, I haven't been back up there since I filmed this year's ago. Plus haven't rode in over a year following shoulder surgery, I have told myself to get back up there when I have some strength in the repaired shoulder. Thanks for the view/comment .

Yeah it's good, most of the stuff at the top is rolable and the woods are steep and more natural technical terain. Lots of different lines and definitely a good day on the bikes 👍

Hahaha it was sketchy AF. Yeah defo sounds like me with kids lol. haven't been fj's in a while we was gonna go, it was a coin toss that day an Havok won plus it was new to us never being there before, good place even in wet dead loose riding lol. Nice one mate..

i dont drive and live blackpool id be getting train whats nearest station colne or clitheroe? just bought kona operator it arrives end of jan keen to take here to test
@loonanick40397 жыл бұрын
WAKE UP!!! only just seen your comment.... Sorry dude... I think definitely Clitheroe mate but it's still a fair trek to the forest. it's quite a long hilly climb to the forest. I wouldn't want to try riding my DH rig from Clitheroe to Gisburn forest, but I salute you sir if you do it. if your going on a train why don't you look at going to farmer John's mtb Park in Marple bridge/Stockport!! when I'm there I know of a few lads whom catch a train as the station is only at the bottom of the hill. (I have a video or two of fj's on my channel if ya wanna check 'em out, personally I'd say for your DH rig fj's would be the better choice) thanks for watching an commenting 👍

What're your opinions on this bike?
@loonanick40397 жыл бұрын
My bike I guess your asking about? Norco Aurum A7.2.... mint I love it, its an XL frame and has steel stanchion fork legs (domain dual crown) so its a little on the heavier side, but doesn't really bother me as I am quite the big chap at 6'8"... I had rode with a guy whom was doing a review on the carbon version C7.2 for dirt magazine... I was envious of the carbon version... he told me that he thought that value for money that mine was the better of the two!!! I would like some better forks for mine as I do believe it would improve my ridding 10fold and the hubs are a little tired after a years ridding. Apart from those components being changed, fantastic downhill rig and usually gets people on the hill complementing it. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment...
@ZacHigham7 жыл бұрын
Nicky Pollard The c7.2 is the one I'm looking at as it's on offer, thanks for the feedback, anytime your videos are really good :)

great vid! im going in november! looks challenging but very fun!
@loonanick40397 жыл бұрын
Thanks, yeah defiantly challenging on both rider and bike, the last run I did on that day I had a slate go right though a tyre so take spares with you. I had to buy one from the on site shop as I had an uplift booked at Revolution bike park the next day. I'm actually at stiniog this Sunday, cant wait. Thanks again for you view and comment.
@eXposureGR4PHICS7 жыл бұрын
Nicky Pollard oh I definitely will! We were chatting about taking spares etc. Earlier coincidentally lol. We are planning on staying in a log cabin in Bala then travelling to antur one day then a couple of others through the week i.e coed y Brennin
@loonanick40397 жыл бұрын
When I go I usually only stay the one night, I found a mint little B&B in trawsfyndd called Cae gywn which is a stones throw away from coed y brennin forest and it costs 34 quid per night, defo worth a look at. I have a video on here this is its link kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fbyZgaZlqcylgYU.html here you will see the B&B approx. half way through the video. Log cabin sounds good and in a lovely part of Wales too, good views on that road from Bala to ffestiniog.
@ZacHigham8 жыл бұрын
Quick Question, I see all these videos of people on downhill bikes and the footage looks really smooth as if they're not feeling all the rocks and roots etc. Does it actually feel really smooth on a downhill bike or is it the same as 140mm travel?
@loonanick40398 жыл бұрын
still quite bumpy mate, but your suspension's set up different and DH rigs have a lot more travel an more plush than a trail outfit. I have 203mm of travel on my bike so therefore it will seem to be smoother ride than a 140 travel rig. get a run on a Downhill rig an it'll all become clear pal.
@ZacHigham8 жыл бұрын
+Nicky Pollard you've been to Revolution Bike Park right?
@loonanick40398 жыл бұрын
+TantumMedia, Hell yeah dude it's awesome too. only been the once like.

+Nicky Pollard hoping to go camping around the snowdonia area, if your interested there's a new bike park called 'GNAR Bike Park' it's about 45 mins west from whinlatter. Got a few things to do to the whip before I go out on it, can't wait!
@loonanick40398 жыл бұрын
+TantumMedia, when we go to Wales we b&b it in the colder months an camp in the warmer dryer months. nearby snowdon the is a b&b called cae gwyn farmhouse they also have camping facilities too. it's a good central location to all bike parks in the northern section of Wales. I was invited to the opening of gnar and havok bike Park, but I am still recovering from a fractured foot, so I'm planning to get on it when fixed. welcome to the downhill family dude...

Where is this at the forest (from the main circle at the start)?
@loonanick40398 жыл бұрын
when your on the red trail you climb a long ass loose rocky fire Road hill, at the top there's as picnic table. you continue down the fire Road and where you turn off the red trail though the quarry you'd pass it and it's just another 100 metres or so. you can't miss it then dude. thanks for watching 😉
@ZacHigham8 жыл бұрын
+Nicky Pollard I know exactly where you're talking about Thankyou, would a giant trance 27.5 be able to handle it or nah, thanks for the quick reply also 😀
@loonanick40398 жыл бұрын
+TantumMedia, Alright dude sorry it's taken me awhile to respond. Your Giant Trance will be mint for it as I find my downhill rig alittle over kill for that place. The question is down to your own skill set and your confidence at hitting stuff that a'nt rollable, I would also give your suspension's rebound settings a good coat of looking at as if it is too fast it could become unstable an throw you off, I have seen it happen all too much. Have big fun sending it pal 😎
@ZacHigham8 жыл бұрын
+Nicky Pollard glad to here, I've got my suspension pretty dialled in for big jumps and everything else, I'll guess I have to grow some balls, Niceone mate 😀
