For the first signal you can do that, yes! I didn't realize at the time but someone else in the comments suggested it as well.

Instead of the first by-pass you can use a cleaner solution: - Instead of a two-way exit signal on the main line, use a 2-way combi-signal. - Change the signal before it to a two-way exit signal. You can only do this once though. As long as a train on the main line is in the segment leading up to the two-way exit signal, the entry signal on the side line will be red.
