Roger.....do you use your Silver P. 686 Sporting for trap or some other clay shooting discipline. If yes, does it serve well for trap? I have recently joined a club that has a 5 Stand Sporting set up as well as Trap shooting......and skeet also.

Just changed my shotgun so looking for advice on checking gun fit, tried the drinking straw method and it was perfect alignment. Made sense in the explanation and getting a good result can only increase confidence. New gun has a much thicker stock but it's bang on with this test.

Hi Roger love your videos. I've just patterned my Beretta sp1 Not an adjustable comb. It's shooting slightly left, any thoughts of altering the comb.? Many thanks in advance.

Ported barrels are absolutely worthless on all fronts! i'd bet anyone that they could never tell the difference if all else could be held equal. And if you could not tell how much louder they are than non-ported barrels when standing next to them, you are deaf as a post! A marketing ploy. Nothing else.

Beretta , Italians do it better .

Great video, thank you. I just hold a nickel firmly against each firing pin to release the pressure. It’s soft enough to dent similar to a primer and this saves the assembly/disassembly steps.

Just out of curiosity, what length barrel do you have on your 686 for Trap Shooting?
@rogerpace9322

Joe My 686 had, i think, 28 inch barrels. I have since sold it and bought a second hand ASE gold Beretta with 30 inch barrels Stay well, happy shooting and thank you for watching !!

Hi Roger how do I stop lifting my head
@rogerpace9322
@rogerpace9322 2 ай бұрын
At different times we all lift our head. Leaning forward a little and making good firm contact with the stock is a good start. Shooting the chips from s broken target also helps. After you have shot the target keep tracking it with your gun. Hope this helps.Stay well, happy shooting and thank you for watching !!

I have a high rib installed on my 410 O/U. If you look at the height measured at the end of the barrel on a 12 gauge, from the bottom barrel to the top of the rib it will normally be at least 1/2" or more taller than a 410, or 1/4 to 3/8" taller than a 20 gauge. Think about that for a second,, similar firearms, you have to "scrunched" down to get the same sight picture on the 20 and 410, to match that of the 12. High ribs make lots of sense, depending on the firearm and clay game you are playing.

In your past videos you have said "see bird, shoot bird" and I would like to better understand what you meant by that. Do you focus on the bird as soon as it flies out of the trap house and keep your eyes on it throughout the flight until the shot is fired or did I misunderstand you?
@rogerpace9322
@rogerpace9322 7 ай бұрын
You look out into the distance ...in soft focus...when the bird comes out you focus on the bird...not the gun...you let your subconscious do the shooting...if we think about it ..the gun will stop and we will miss...as soon as you see the target its .."see bird shoot bird" no thinking ...just see it and shoot it...hope this explains it a bit better. Thanks for watching..!!! You have to trust your muscle memory...instincts...reflexes...if we think and aim ...we will miss On our last shot for a perfect round of 25 thats when see bird shoot bird comes into its own..Dont think just say ...ive shot 24 and as soon as i see this one its gone to dust...happy shooting.
