Hi, thx for your video. Do you know how many audio tracks are saved on pocket 3 for one footage? I would like to have a separate audio file from camera and rode microphone. I’m afraid that Rode sound will be merged with sound from camera.
@SamKirwanPhotography
@SamKirwanPhotography 6 күн бұрын
I think that if you use the ‘Built in mic audio backup’ setting you can record separate tracks for the external mic and the internal mics. I’m not 100% sure if this works with the Rode Mic, because it’s wired directly into the Pocket 3. I think it might only work with the DJI mic, which connects via bluetooth - do you see what I mean? I can’t check myself as I don’t have the DJI mic. Hope that helps!

Nice video! I also liked yours about the DJI Pocket 3. Going to watch the other ones. Loved all the drone photos, as well as your Fuji ones. I always get stressed when flying mine (I have a DJI Mini 2), so I don’t use it that often, but love aerial shots 👍

Thanks! Yeah I was a bit nervous flying mine for a while, but I found a good tip online: only fly it around until you hit about 30% battery, then use that remaining battery power to bring it back to you and switch in a fresh one. They’re fairly sturdy though in fairness - I’ve crashed this one a few times, and even broken some internal cables twice, but parts are easy to find and it’s quite basic inside so relatively easy to repair!

@@SamKirwanPhotography thanks! My main problem is that I always think I’m going to bother someone else with the drone, even if I carefully scout online or with an app the spots where flying a drone is allowed. But the photos and video we can take from the sky are simply beautiful, that’s true!

@@andresalgadomarques Ah I completely understand! I’ve been approached once or twice and it’s never fun, but I find that being polite and explaining what you’re doing helps. It might sound somewhat obstinate, but the reality is that if you’re legally allowed to fly and photograph in that location, then you’re entitled to do so. I usually politely explain that I’m just taking some aerial footage and that nobody will be visible or identifiable in it purely because of how high I generally fly. If they’re still upset, I offer to show them some sample photos (the ones that are sent back automatically mid-flight) but I prefer not to do that as it means the drone will be hovering unattended while doing so. Then if they’re still unhappy I generally bring the drone back and call it a day - no sense causing anyone any genuine anger or upset!

I am told that the OP3 has a feature which automatically focuses on a product when you bring it close to the camera, but towards the end of the video when you were displaying the adapter, it did not focus on the adapter. It kept the focus on your face. I am still tossing u between the OP3 and the Fimi Palm 2 Pro. I understand Fimi is not that great, but the price difference cannot be overlooked. What is your professional opinion?
@SamKirwanPhotography
@SamKirwanPhotography Ай бұрын
Yes there is a focus mode on the OP3 called ‘Product Showcase Mode’ but I didn’t use it because I didn’t want to break the flow of my video by switching from face tracking to product tracking shots. To answer your question though, I think I’d still stick with the Osmo Pocket 3. Having read reviews of the Fimi Palm 2 Pro, it sounds to me like it’s a decent product, but has several drawbacks - unintuitive menus, unreliable footage quality, among other things. The impression I get is that you would buy the Fimi Palm 2 Pro and then realise that you should have bought the Osmo Pocket 3. Ultimately it comes down to budget, but DJI is renowned for its image and video quality, gimbal performance, and so on - not to mention the range of third party accessories available - and I could find a lot more ‘help’ and ‘how to’ content for the DJI online than I could for the Fimi, so for all those reasons, the DJI would still be my personal choice.

Regardless of whether the resolution of camera photos is 33 million pixels or 24 million pixels, they cannot fill an 8k screen. When viewed on a 4K monitor, the image will be displayed as a thumbnail because the image is too large, causing visual image details to be distorted and blurred. It's all useless crap resolution. The best and clearest photo specification is a 3840*2160 photo taken directly from a Panasonic camera or DJI Pocket 3. The clearest image is displayed point-to-point full screen on a large 4K TV. What you really need is a camera that can directly take 3840*2160 photos.

Thanks for the honest review, but you didn't mention one thing which I hate about the DJI Pocket 3 which was not there in the Pocket 1 and 2 - it's the blurred background - this looks great in photos for sure but for video - it sucks as the audience cannot view the background in full. Some may argue this is good as it draws more attention to the main subject, but I dislike it and have since sold my Pocket 3 to go back to the Pocket 2 and am using this in conjunction with my Sony ZV-1.
@SamKirwanPhotography
@SamKirwanPhotography Ай бұрын
Yeah that’s a fair point, and well worth calling out. This is because the Pocket 3 has a fixed aperture of f2 so it has a shallower depth of field. Personally I prefer the shallow depth of field because I prefer my face to be in focus when speaking to camera so as to avoid the background becoming distracting for the viewer, but it’s all down to personal preference for sure. That’s why I think it’s really helpful to watch reviews like these on KZfaq (and read the comments!) but buying. Thanks for watching, and great comment!

The Osmo Pocket 3 isn’t waterproof unfortunately - I think it’s because the gimbal is so exposed and it would be hard to weather seal all the moving parts. You should look at the DJI Action series of cameras instead, they’re probably more suitable to your needs!

Looks good, but personally I find the FOV a bit too narrow. Prefer something like the OA4 so that I can see more of the surroundings, especially when out in the mountains or country. I don’t think the 15 mm option makes much of a difference and wouldn’t want to swap on and off). That said, for when you simply want to talk to the camera and aren’t trying to illustrate the background it does a wonderful job…and I guess that is what people call vlogging. And if you want to show more the countryside just get out of the way (or flip the screen). Nicely done…short and to the point!

@@SamKirwanPhotography K&F Concepts latest version of their four ND filters with built-in circular polarisers are fantastic. They are thin and do allow proper 'parking' of the camera / gimbal when powered-off and the circular polarisers are brilliant at getting rid of reflections and increasing contrast. The DJI wide angle lens is useful and the DJI Mic 2 with its 32 bit internal recording and instant noise reduction if required, plus not needing to muck about with a separate receiver is terrific. Plus if you have two DJI Mic 2's, these can be set as a stereo pair and the internal three mics of the camera (stereo background sound and one mic for noise cancelling), give you four track sound for your NLE. The Combo kit is definitely worth the extra money, unfortunately everywhere was out of stock when I made my purchase, so I've ended-up spending a lot more money.

Thank you, I appreciate the comment and the feedback! Honestly, it holds up very well. The image quality is excellent, and I’ve never run out of battery while using it, which is often a concern with older cameras. It does function a little more slowly, so if you’re taking bursts of photos it takes slightly longer for the camera to process them, but that’s to be expected and it genuinely doesn’t bother me or slow me down. The user interface is also a little dated but it’s still very familiar because it’s Fujifilm, you know?
