The elephant in the room is the “Save Our Homes” legislation. While inflation is skyrocketing most residents are unfairly protected from increases in their property’s taxable value. Newer residents and businesses are paying much more than their fair share. We need to get rid of “Save Our Homes” and dramatically lower the millage rate for all residents and businesses. This would be the fair and proper thing to do. Ironically, it is usually the older residents who don’t want to lower the millage rate, since they are not paying the taxes. These older residents should be paying thousands more in taxes each year. Just look up the speakers addresses and see how little they pay in taxes. Why should new residents pay triple the amount in taxes for the same value property that these older residents own. Our children need to buy homes and the taxes are making it impossible. P. S. Maybe we could get The University of Miami, Churches and other tax exempt property owners to pay something as well.

This property should be a passive park, similar to the Bird Road/Granada city park addition and the protection of it's invaluable, luxurious tree canopy should be protected or at least replaced with more adult trees, instead of new plantings that will require many years to provide any useful relief. Neighborhood siidewalks should also be a priority.

@@mediaviralmy3293 If you Google Missouri Botanical Garden, they have an article on Dioscorea Alata under their Plant Finder. In the North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox, they have an article on Dioscorea bulbifera. The pictures are very helpful in differentiating the two - leaves, placement of leaves, the ways the stems curl, and “potatoes”. I don’t have any other knowledge of the plant. I was researching it for a friend, so do your due diligence.

The greatest city ever that built me! My bestie used to live at the corner house off Granada and Castille or something?? It was the 16th house built in the Gables in 1926...I think 🤔 The Coral Gables house caretakers let us park in lot whenever we wanted (unless events) and was a perfect spot to chill out at, listen to music etc whenever we wanted to stay away from the grind of Miami! They had a little toddler who was adorable of course! Great family and us teens always appreciated their trust in us, but looking back now with grown kids of my own...I'm even more grateful they never ran us off!💜😘
