We had no business in Vietnam. Westmoreland wanted to please LBJ by keeping the numbers of actual VC under 300,000. When there was at least twice that amount and bore out that way when the Tet offensive occurred in January 68. Who cares what the General got right he pressured his subordinates to give him happy numbers to present to Johnson so he could be gifted his Oak leaf clusters. Those clusters were dripping with American soldiers blood for they went into battle after battle with incorrect accounting of their enemies strength. Westmoreland was a disgrace to the uniform and should have been court martialed for dereliction of duty and sent to fort Leavenworth to serve a prison sentence,

Very nice, really inspiring (if only one had the 3d space for such a table - sigh! But does anybody know what groovy guitar tune has been added in the latter part of the video? It seems so familiar but I just can't put my finger on it.

In my opinion, The Pacific was better. People wanted The Pacific to be Band of Brothers. The USMC battles in the Pacific were so brutal that I don’t think they could find a unit in the USMC that were able to stay together and alive. The Pacific just brings such a more violent and realistic war experience to the viewers and there was little to no humor to the show. Maybe I’m in the minority but it really brought that same feeling of Saving Private Ryan.

10mm...not my cup of tea as my vision isn't that good anymore and controlling the tip of the brush isn't as easy either...but...Wow, great tutorial. Straight forward, easy to follow, excellently narrated. Maybe I could give 15/18mm a try...and even if that's too small, I enjoyed "living vicariously the 10mm lifestyle" watching this video.

As others have said, as a Marine I love the Pacific and what it does to show a different side of WWII. Many people will criticize the lack of “brotherhood” or narrative in the Pacific but in reality that was the difficulty of writing a series about this war. Easy Company trained together, jumped into Normandy, went back, jumped into Holland, and stayed in theater the rest of the war. On the flip side, the Marines had 3, eventually 5 divisions that at any point were landing on different islands all at different times. Not to mention the distinct lack of first-hand accounts and material. They had to make do with 3 different men who all joined separately and never interacted with each other. It's very episodic and self contained in a sense, which is what makes it different, yet also separates it from BoB even more.

Much said about volunteers from Tennessee but that 18 pound cannon was brought from Louisiana by the “New Orleans Grays” volunteer group. 23 of that group died there. More fought and died at Bexar, San Jacinto and Goliad. There comprised 2 militia companies totaling 122 men. Funny thing though, they forgot to bring any cannon balls with them on the ship!

Band of Brothers is a text book example on how you make a TV series based on history.

The early stens had the problems because of poor , rushed build quality. Then they were reliable and devastating inside 100 yards . A very important gun highly rated in Europe not in Hollywood.

I just checked out this DVD from the library to get familiar with history of this event(s), to assist in me war miniatures tabletop gaming. I thought it was a great film. A great history lesson - for me anyway. I never knew it was so tragic and with that how Texas became our 28th state to the Union. Bravo to all who participated in this film - it was worth it.

I visited a few weeks ago and there was so much to see and do that I came back a second day. The Chosin Reservoir immersive experience was phenomenal and there is an exhibit of a coat worn at Chosin. And so much more.

OH. MY. GOODNESS. When I saw the Spring 1813 campaign video and subsequent videos of the series, my inner self sprang to life! Thanks for providing Napoleonic era wargaming content, I remember when I watched the Austerlitz video and loved your content. Overall, this campaign has to take the cake for best episode but great work as always!

Tombstone is popcorn flick who people only remember gay one liners like I’m your huckleberry. Wyatt Earp is an epic film. Dennis didn’t need cartoonish acting to play doc. Val is a fuckjng amazing actor. But his doc felt like a cartoon character
