The main attribute of powerlifting that I love is the community. The first powerlifting meet I went to was amazing. Everyone was so supportive. There were athletes not even benching a plate and yet the crowd was roaring for them. Truly awesome 🔥

When the heart and mind are focused on one goal the body is unstoppable!! This is a feeling that most people never experience because they never push hard enough!! Thanks for the motivation!

I’m 33 years old with a raw total of 1,985. This is unofficial done in gym and not in a sanctioned completion. I’ve always wanted to break 2000 raw but being that I’m not even competing for anything i talk myself out of going for it. Particularly if I get hurt just For the sake of saying i totaled 2000+ like is it even worth attempting when you’re not even competing? Stories like this make me want to Go for it. Thanks for the inspiration.

He's a lovely guy and it's a great documentary. However, who is judging these squat depths?!

Outstanding documentary. Your guts, faith and raw emotion made it great. I’ve been around the sport since the early 2000s and even though the raw movement has taken over the last several years I still love geared lifting.

I started competing in powerlifting in 1997 and finally retired in 2018 after 21 years with an Elite total. I switched to olympic weightlifting (just for something new) and I honestly never missed powerlifting for one minute.... until watching this. That was motivating, really took me back. Outstanding stuff my friend, you are legit as they come. Side note: I always had amazing results cutting water using a hot bath, something I got from an MMA fighter... epsom salt, cover yourself in Albolene (makeup remover you can buy anywhere), water hot as you can possibly handle. 20 mins in, 5 out and wrapped in warm blankets, repeat. I could usually cut 8 pounds in 90 minutes (I competed in the lighter weight classes), which is usually all I could cut without affecting my performance.

I think Matt lowered his final lift just to get to record but I can see how it would be confusing.

Seems like a good guy . Alot of elite lifters have a horse shoe up there ass and full of shit . Matthew seems like a genuine guy with a big heart. The peoples champion. Not really a fan of equiped lifting buts not about that . Its about a man who overcame his adversity an kept a humble spirit

These American powerlifters are definitely strong AF. However, the sport needs to return to raw lifting, mandatory drug testing in all organisations, and a squat depth requirement below parallel. This guys squat depth would have got him red lighted in an IPPF comp…

Very wholesome content and how it all came together at the end. You have the heart of a warrior Mr. Minuth because multi-ply gear or not, you hit 672 with torn muscle. You have a great family and support system, may God be with you all.
