I lived 20 minutes from here. Thanks for the footage…it was our favorite Friday nite pizza location. Relocated to Alabama two days before. The temperature was 80 degrees Dec. 8th if I remember correctly.

I had a friend of mine that lived next door to me and she and her family moved to Kentucky in the Fall of 2014, I prayed that she and her family made it through the Tornado (aka The Beast) and r NOT on the fatality list. My Heart still goes out to the Residences of Mayfield Kentucky, Bowling Green Kentucky, Monette Arkansas, Edwardsville Illinois, and to all the 93 people that lost their lives on the night of December 10th 2021 and December 11th 2021, I know that everyone's lives won't be the same, but our love will shine bright though all their pain. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I watched the coverage of this live on Ryan halls channel. In my 10 years of weather observing/studying I have never seen a storm like this one. This rivals the Moore EF5. Like I’ve never seen a wasteland after a storm quite like this one.

@@Bak3dGamingYTI think that the NWS is scared to rate tornadoes EF5 But Mayfield has to be an F5. This is unreal.

that should not have been and EF4, that is easily EF5 damage, especially when WAY more people were killed than the 2 Moore Oklahoma EF5 tornadoes combined

Definitely agree that it should of been EF5 but more people died because it was at night and it was December and lots of people don’t take warnings and forecast seriously especially in the middle of winter

Still needs physical damage equal to an EF5. Possibly parking blocks pulled from the ground and thrown. Manhole covers thrown and never found. You know. btw: should have or should've, not ' should of'

So should Jarrell, Smithville, and Greensburg not be EF5s then? All three plus the two Moore EF5 tornadoes did significantly more damage than this one did. This was a strong tornado, no doubt. But the NWS is super methodical and they use extreme attention to detail when surveying damage and coming up with a final rating. Death toll has no direct correlation with tornado strength. I assure you they made the correct call with an EF4. Still a sad tragedy.

@@michaelpryor78 well considering insurance companies and our states pay out to ppl affected with damage by the rating. This tornado had every thing an ef5 brings to table leveled houses off foundations like come on the winds were 190mph ur gonna tell me these weren't over 200 at times

@@Sj430 @kellysell5367 Believe it or not, it isn't the actual giant tornado itself that does all the damage, a tornado like this one has mini vortices inside them that are the ones that actually deal the damage. They are so small however, that they can leave one house devastated but the one next door completely fine.
