As vaulter, I’m wondering why any one with such great clearances would waste the energy. It is common knowledge that even the best vaulter have perhaps eight good vaults in any one day. Bupka knew this and often passed to 6.0 meters. Deplantis does the same. Saving his best efforts for world record heights.

Thanks for uploading, incredibly invaluable video for people studying his form. You can see how quickly he gets his center of mass to the pole to get the most out of the unbend.

Hello Mr. Albright! Question for you - this is Rob Kaufman from the Cricket Wireless video production team. Would it be okay with you if we used a snippet of this video in one of our corporate events? This is great footage, and would be very helpful if you would be so kind as to grant us permission. Thanks!! Rob

I think we posted his current meet PR of 15' 4" done at the pole vault summit in Reno a couple of weeks ago. More of his vault progression can be seen at n296rvba on you tube. right now we are working on making sure he's on his mid mark and gathering properly over his last six strides so his take off is at the right place (11' 8") and he is jumping on to the pole.

I also noticed you were about 1 ft under at takeoff.

I coach pole vault and if your clearing 12'6 on a 14'7 and what looks to be holding at the top and accounting for the 8' inch drop in the box it seems your clearing your bottom hand. I noticed you get the legs up but you don't relax the shoulders and drive the hips to the pole. Try working in that and you should start getting closer to vaulting your top hand.
