Is there a positive stop when downshifting from third to second? Like could i accidentally downshift into first when trying to go to second?
@CarGuyV84 күн бұрын
There is. If you pull the lever halfway up it’ll only downshift to 2nd. If you pull it all the way up you can go straight back to first. This shifter takes a little practice but it’s great for the price.

Your rough running problem by the way you described it sounded like you had a hot ember in cylinder 7. A hot ember can be casting flash or debris. Just make sure the piston face is polished and the combustion chamber smoothed as well. Lap those valves in. make sure all gaskets are sealing, could be an air leak. Oh and your bearings are toast. Polish your journals and put new bearings in. Make sure your crankshaft damper is not spun.

I LOVE IT!! I have an '87 Chevy R10, long-bed, regular cab, 2wd with a TBI 305 in it. I really want to build up the 305 for a mild mannered, streetable cruiser that has a little more omph and bark than the current anemic puppy in it. I'm not looking for a track monster, 1/4 mile time machine, or a neck-breaking tire burner. I just want it to scoot when needed and keep the truck as all original as possible at the same time. 325-350 HP would make me more than happy with it.

Hey man, recently watched your video on your 96 green f150. Awesome truck btw I’m trying to build one myself. And I’ve come to notice it looks like the front gas tank has been removed. Was it because of your exhaust setup? And if I were to go the same long tube and glass pack route, would it sound the same if it were shortened to compensate for the tank? Yours doesn’t have a bunch of drone. And I’m unsure if shortening the length will affect the drone. Asking for advice, you seem to be knowledgeable more than I, awesome videos man.
@CarGuyV816 күн бұрын
Thank you. Mine actually was factory built with only 1 17 gallon fuel tank. Most had dual tanks. My true duals were dumped way before the rear axle so yours would probably sound very similar.
