I must say, it is always wonderful to see a pianist really lose him/herself in the music they play, and that to me is what is always so captivating about Lang Lang. Really, because of that, it is almost impossible for him to put on a “bad” concert even though, if I’m being honest, I was never very impressed with his sound. It always seemed rather hollow to me. It was never harsh, certainly, but it lacked the deeply textured richness that separates the extraordinary from the merely talented. Sorry.

Anything that Lang Lang plays deservers the highest praise. His brilliance is totally in accordance with ALL the great pianists who have preceded him. God created him, and all through extreme difficulty in his younger life, God saw to it that LL would give the world a gift, a person of extreme potential talent and in touch of the deepest emotions required to give of himself to a much greater cause than himself, God's divine goodness and love through music!

He says again, Ps 68:19, 20, "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation! Our God is the God of salvation; and to God the Lord belong escapes from death." In Hebrews 10:31, the Lord says, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." In Philippians 2:10, 11, He says to us, "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Even as LL has wonderful parents, it was God who gave him the inner incentive to practice, practice; the love of the music, the ability to remember, the dexterity of his fingers, everything it takes to be a great pianist, who can, in turn, bless us with this beautiful music.
