Is this footage from the What on Earth episode when you found the huge ship in the middle of the desert!? That was amazing!
@midway5123 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed it is! I shot this when we were there filming for the show in August 2008.

Was that black powder you used in the ignition charge or was it smokeless?

Thank you , enjoyed it . Jun 1969 onboard a MAC Charter flight from Travis AFB to Kadena AFB the plane circled Iwo Jima for a bit so passengers could see it .

My grandmother, Paula Dicke Siekmann is buried there. She was a missionary wife from Germany and died giving birth to her daughter, Paula Siekmann in 1914. My father, Dr. Gene Siekmann was born there in 1912. He went on to become a Pastor in the United States, where we (his family) now live.

I would be interested in hearing from others with a similar historical background. I am the granddaughter of Paula and Frederick Siekmann, missionaries in the early 1900's in Okahandja. I now live in Scottsdale, Arizona. My email address is [email protected]

If possible I would really love to hear the vz61 silenced without the 22LR kit. I'm considering buying one right now, not sure if I want to get 32 ACP or 380 ACP. Either way I will be running a silencer, I'm guessing the 32 will probably be quieter even through a 9 mm silencer

USAF retired...spent 5 1/2 years on The Rock (1984-89, 43rd Supply Sq, Fuels Management Branch, for historical record) this brought back a lot of memories, especially at this time of year. My family camped on CE Beach Christmas Eve and we decorated the tree. It was a great spot to camp and we usually had the whole beach with an occasional surf caster or two. I put out the presents after the kids fulfilled their part of family tradition by going to sleep. I'd stay up all night with a flashlight, fishing rod and beer in hand, protecting the presents from coconut crabs...well, that's what I told the the wife and kids, anyway. Thank you for the footage. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

What a cool island! Are there actually sharks there? I love the slow motion :) thank you for sharing your footage!
@midway5126 жыл бұрын
Yes! The story goes that the sharks will enter the bay & prowl around the island because there are penguins on the two other islands in the bay. I don't think you made it to Lüderitz during your Namibia trip, but I highly recommend it if you should ever return. Shark Island has a bit of a dark history from the German colonial period, but still it is a great place to visit & you can even camp there too. I give it two thumbs up!
@sigisoltau60734 жыл бұрын
@@midway512 The one island at 23 seconds is Penguin Island. There's another one behind that one called Seal Island. Now, there aren't seals or penguins on those islands, they can be found on Halifax Island and Diaz Point.
