It pulls too easy, and it ends up with pulls in the material. The material ends up like tissue paper eventually and rips very easily. I've had the SC 1, and friends have had the SC 2.

I'm out in my local woods now, christening my Southern Cross 2. Ridiculously easy to pitch, bags of room for one, loads of great features, top quality materials and construction, and, quite frankly, a thing of beauty. My last tent was a low-roof, narrow stealth job; little more than a fabric coffin really. The Southern Cross 2 weighs 300g less and is positively palatial by comparison. I'm chuffed to bits with it.

Would love a Cloud Inversion up one of the higher peaks sometime. Hoping to bag one at the end of this month in the Lakes 🤞. Please post updates after you have been out in it a few times. I'm wondering if it gets too hot in the summer months. In Western Australia we don't get high winds and snow together so our 4th season is really a 3+ except perhaps mid winter in the "high" Stirling Ranges. I'm also keen to know if it's truly a 2P tent with gear and sleeping kits. Thank for this review it looks like you have the latest version of this tent.
@Danny37Outdoors
@Danny37Outdoors 2 ай бұрын
Hey Brad, yeah will do mate, i can tell you for sure you'll get two mats in and the vestebule/porch areas are 100% big enough for your kit and a partners kit eitherside. I've had it out once but it didnt get much of a test, hoping to put it through its paces later in the year, it's suppose to be a true 4 season tent due to the specs/ outer fly comes all the way to the floor and plenty of ventilation etc and with the added options for the doors etc but yeah ill keep you posted mate
@bradl2636
@bradl2636 2 ай бұрын
@@Danny37Outdoors Yes my only concern is adequate ventilation in summer months. I’m looking for a one-tent solution. This might be overkill in Western Australia but I do like the option for winter use albeit our winter is not as extreme in the UK.

I received this about 3 days ago mate, its the new version, unsure how the previous version was (or what you mean...?) but you can unzip the inner mesh, there are 2 zips... one to unzip the door and 2 tie back toggles and then a secondary zip at the top once your inner door is zipped up you can unzip the top section which will open up a small section of the door but also has mesh which acts as extra ventilation/ a view point and almost a bug net so you can have the outer fly door open and still get the views while being safe from the mozzies in your inner

Dude. Didn't you get it scanned? You have to no matter how you feel just now. If you want to keep doing this stuff in your 50's - and you will, get it properly checked. And if its a tendon then that's going to take 3 months to heal. In fact, whatever it is, 3 months. If you go about on it and don't heal properly, you'll get the 3 months later and poor performance until then. It's a pain but you can still do videos in your back garden reviewing kit and build up ( ie, set up a base camp 20 ft from your car etc). Anyway, hope you get better soon and looking forward to some drone action.
