This is stunningly beautiful. What an instrument and what a virtuoso musician he was.

I am local (grew up in Skelton not far from Boro) and totally understand, remember and relate to many parts of this video. Things aren't massively better now and were all still sharing rollies and counting pennies to buy tins of beans etc. Poverty is incredibly complicated but this is a very thoughtful piece I thought. Also the line that dildo's can't buy a round of drinks is priceless.

Bukharin's autobiography ("how it all began") that he wrote while imprisoned by Stalin really shows the psychology of the early bolsheviks, and you really realize Stalin had more in common with the narrow minded thuggish reactionaries and secret police that the Bolsheviks fought against.

She was a great film maker and a great liar. She did in fact personally select Romani extras imprisoned in a concentration camp near the film location of 'Tiefland', as attested by survivors who witnessed her do just that. Even on the film shoot they were treated terribly, locked up when not filming without heat or adequate food. I admire her films and photographs as powerful images but will never admire her. Like Albrecht Speer, after the war she pretended she was just an artist who knew nothing about the extermination camps, treatment of Jews and other 'undesirables' and all the other crimes in plain view, like the millions of slave laborers working all over Germany. They knew exactly what was going on; that they never took responsibility for it is contemptible.

I agree with every one of your words. She is just defending herself and her (beautiful) work. Can anyone truly believe that the nazis did not check her movies before publishing? There you see she lies, in my opinion.

An unexpectedly critical documentary drawing attention to the imperialist tendencies and artistic sentimentality of Victorian self-aggrandisement. And yet it's an aesthetically striking archi-sculpture that speaks volumes of the spirit of its time and place, so it should be maintained in perpetuity.

Be very careful with things that are said in this film for example they don't have the history right Lenny ravenstahl she stated clearly to Hitler and Goebbels I will make your film but you stay out of it . This can be corroborated by Albert Speer and his book inside the Third Reich which according to experts is probably the closest view of Hitler that you will ever get

Palestinians are a primitive group of people who inly want to use western country's to there advantage. The germans from silesia are so far above the barbaric culture of palistine one can not compare the two in the slightest
