Either through a currency exchange office, using your debit card to pull cash from ATMs, or at the airport.

I just keep thinking about that poor British college boy who was shot while walking down a street in Cairo, in broad daylight, a few years back. They reported that he was shot only because he was a white foreigner. How safe is Cairo today? Especially with the war in Gaza still going on? Thanks.
@RinadoyКүн бұрын
Strange! How can he be shot when the Egyptian population does not have any kind of bullets? If that person had been hurt with a knife or something similar, I would have believed you. What I know is that the Egyptian people are kind to foreigners and do not differentiate between black and white
@EgyptAdventuresTravelКүн бұрын
I’ve never heard of this-could you share an article talking about this so I can learn more? I’ve been going to Egypt for 12 years, and as a white foreigner, feel extremely safe. Way safer than I feel traveling anywhere else in the world, to be honest.

Habibi…I went to Egypt in April, 2024 for three weeks. I have never dished out so much money in tips in my life. I’m sure camels at the pyramids will be soon trained to chase after tourists for tips ;) lol Visiting the pyramids is a rough experience with so many scammers. Be aware. This sounds ridiculous yes, buy the tipping culture there is like nowhere else I’ve been. Not only is it expected, people can get aggressive about not getting a tip ( whether they are due it one or not). But for those who deserved a tip, tip generously. Uber drivers get paid diggly-squat (as do most Egyptians) and those drivers… I tipped in cash, right in their hand instead of using the app to tip. I met fantastic Uber drivers. Ubers are ridiculously cheap so give your driver a great tip. Dispite this aggressive tipping culture being of a major annoyance….I WILL return Habibi! The food, culture, history …WOW… especially THE people ….warm and welcoming. ( And yes…very safe for travel… considering the war going on next door). PS…. Please don’t give tips in coins, either Euro, USA etc. it’s a challenge to convert coins at their local bank so I’ve been told by several tour guides. And yes, crisp Euro or US$ are always appreciated. Safe travels! Hey from 🇨🇦

Thank you for the information. I have one question. How can I go from SPX Airport to Alexandria city. Is there a transportation, or should I take Uber? But I'm not sure if the drivers will accept it, because of the distance between the two cities.
@EgyptAdventuresTravel2 күн бұрын
I don’t know if a driver would accept the trip. My best advice if Uber does not work is to try to Uber into 6th of October and take a microbus, or try to Uber to Ramses train station and take a microbus or the train. Best of luck!

I have no idea, unfortunately. I’ve given up on predicting when the museum will open, because they’ve lied so many times about the opening date.

Hello. I’m coming from Australia next week and stopping in Cairo for only one day, and then I’m off to Europe. I just realised that in my passport, I am wearing make up. Eyeliners and eyelashes etc. Will I have any issues at the airport? Can they deny me entry due to my gender and picture differences? Also, is it safe for me to attend a bar whilst wearing eyelashes? I will likely have eyelash extensions which can’t be removed.
@EgyptAdventuresTravel2 күн бұрын
Hi there, I don’t see eyelashes being an issue, besides getting some stares and maybe some questions. I’d recommend against wearing any makeup, though. Please update us with what your experience is like!

It depends in Egypt-people can travel there, but I recommend against any public displays of affection, symbols of the LGBTQ community like rainbow flags/apparel, and talking about sexuality. I’m not about Qatar; the focus of my channel is Egypt.

You’re allowed to take luggage, but there isn’t a luggage rack. I wouldn’t recommend taking more than one suitcase and one backpack per person.

No- you need to have a boarding pass for a flight leaving from Terminal 2 in order to visit the lounges that are there. But Terminal 3 should have some lounges, I’m just not sure which ones because I don’t usually fly out of that terminal.

Yes, this video shows that even though I speak fluent Egyptian Arabic, it can be tricky to link up with Uber at the airport. However, I’ve noticed getting Uber has gotten much easier in the past year. I plan on making an update video later to show how it’s changed.

Yes, that’s part of the idea. They also see it serving as an easier way for tourists to fly into Cairo for the day from places like Hurghada or Sharm to see the Pyramids, Sphinx, and see the GEM (whenever it finally opens).

Looks like too much trouble with using UBER at the airport. I wonder if it is easier to get UBER at the airport hotel Le Meridien. I will be staying there soon.
@EgyptAdventuresTravel9 күн бұрын
It’s gotten a lot easier to take Uber-I plan on doing an update video. Unfortunately the last time I tried requesting Uber to the Le Meridien hotel, I was routed to one of the parking areas instead, so you may not be able to request Uber to the entrance of the Le Meridien.

@EgyptAdventuresTravel11 күн бұрын
If it is a medication that requires a prescription, I recommend not taking it unless you have a prescription. However, I am never checked for medications when I enter Egypt, so you may not have an issue. The most important thing is to only bring enough medication for your trip (if your trip is one week, don’t bring an entire month supply).
