I think there is no real true ending because there is a comic book life is strange series that follows the Save Chloe ending. But now this game follows the Save Arcadia Bay ending. Pretty interesting to see both outcomes fully play out. Plus now she can enter alternate worlds which is what she did in the comics as well!

I also like how the relationship went from a partnership to Izzie slowly becoming steph's world to a unhealthy degree and how both of them have a hard time opening up to each other. This felt heavily male gazey when I watched it tbh and I know they explicitly wanted to make it raunchy and violent but I’m kinda tired of seeing queer characters portrayed in this over sexual overly violent manner. It felt like one big fan service movie. Not for the female gaze but the male gaze hidden under the gauze of a female directors gaze with some queer pandering to keep us ‘satisfied’.
@queerpeerreviews2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I can totally understand how LLB could give off the male gaze vibe for you and oddly enough at times I feel like both gazes can overlap. I believe a lot can argue that compared to other recent wlw films, such as Drive-Away Dolls, this film definitely fit the queer woman's gaze much better. But yes, of course this doesn't speak for all queer women 😅I do have to agree with you, the over sexualization of queer woman is very tiring at times... we're always in search of more wholesome sapphic content if you have any recommendations! 🏳🌈

I don't know how somebody would miss the fact that Bill was gay in the game. Yes, the letter is missable, but the magazine in the truck is not, and the truck was Bill's. Yes, sure he kept a big hairy men magazine in his truck for the articles.😂 I don't think this episode was messing with the lore, if you remember the game, you had several parts in which you were given two choices. This episode and the game would've been like the results of two different choices by BILL: does he accept Frank's request to open up and make friends and have a life (series)? Or does he keep their isolation resulting in Frank hating him and ending tragically (game)? That's why that choice and that scene were so important. Us gamers saw the result of one choice, and then the series showed the result of the other. I am so happy with this episode and, as a gay author, I was so impressed by their writing and their use of subtext throughout.

@carlosriveraauthor3 ай бұрын
@@queerpeerreviews exactly, people online trying to imply the game didn't make him gay unless you found the letter are willingly ignoring the magazine which isn't just some tiny, blink and you miss it scene. It's probably one of the most famous scenes on the game to the point it made it verbatim to the series. So yeah that's downright denial

I was just telling someone a couple of days ago, I would love to see two spin-off shows... one being a "Bill and Frank" show that just shows the daily adventures they had to go through to continue to live, love, and survive. Imagine being a fan of One Piece and homo/transphobic. How can you not vibe with Iva and Bon Chan. But here's my take as a gay person watching one piece. Oda's portrayal of queer people in Kamabakka is a bit questionable tbh, but I would like to think that he's just testing the waters back then (like Impel Down Arc in 2009 when things aren't as open as now). He realized that people received Ivankov, Bon Clay, and Inazuma quite good so he then improved the portrayal and that's why we get Izo, Morley, Kiku, and Yamato. Honestly, I love Oda for representing the LGBT community, esp as part of the revolutionaries, because ever since, queer people suffered from discrimination, hatred, and violence -- and it's just right for them to dismantle the system and fight for equality for all.

In all honesty I doubt there is such a thing as a homo- or transphobic one piece fan. Everone I've ever seen that has been accused of such were merely sick of characters being hi-jacked into certain orientations when they're not (like Yamato). I mean, 100% of the fanbase *loooooves* Bon chan.

I think Coby is a perfect example of casting a trans person, who plays the character how they should be portrayed. I think most of the time there is backlash to a trans actor/character is that they put that up front for their personality.
