Most commercials are annoying, but Trivago is an exception. Because I like this song, it's catchy.

I played this song in May. It was possibly the most stressful thing I've done in a while as Trumpet 1.

I just found out about this composition. I find it curious how this Russian "baritone" sounds like a basso profundo because of the color of his voice. lol But the composition is beautiful. So different from the Shostakovich I'm used to.

This is one of the most gorgeous Olympic themed pieces. The sheer emotional weight of it as it gets to the climax is heart wrenching. It's a shame it hasn't been recorded much, or performed much either. This is the only recording I'm aware of!

Interesting to hear the first movement orchestrated, almost what could have been the violin concerto's second movement.

On August 8, Me and everyone in Choir will be singing the song in front of the whole school (Ahmad Ibrahim Primary School). I’m fluent in English, learning Chinese, know 4 words in Malay and know 0 words in Tamil (I already had CCA)

There is a great story attached to this piece. Claude T Smith was a 1st chair Horn player in college. His Senior year a Freshman beat him out for 1st chair. Many years later Col. Arnald Gabriel asked Smith to write a piece for the Air Force band that they could not play, so he wrote Festival Variations. Coincidentally the Principal Horn player in AF band was actually the person who beat him out for 1st chair in College. The guy came up to Smith during the rehearsal and said, “I absolutely love the piece, but did you have to make the Horn parts so damn hard?”. Smith looked at him and said, “GOTCHA!!!!”
