Guys that’s a hip. Ridge vent doesn’t go on a hip only on the ridge. These are high profile hip and ridge shingles.

There is no ridge vent on this one bro…. Ridge vents are a crap feature that roofer sell suckers for 1500 bucks extra with magical promises of ventilation. what they don’t tell you is that your soffit vents must be sized properly for a ridge vent to work right. In 9/10 cases they install ridge vent and cover gable vents without checking NFA at the soffit. When the soffit NFA is lower than ridge vent NFA you choke off the ridge vent and cause yourself nasty problems because your roofer told you that ridge vent is better. It’s a gimmick i vent by the industry to make money from suckers. Your gable vents should be sized properly to work just fine to remove moisture and heat from attic. If a 15 year old roof has no signs of moisture anywhere at the ridge, no need to make the roofer richer.

That ABSOLUTELY just fell into the hole. You didnt pick it up from the deck... or you just layed the paper right over the top of it. Pro tip: hammer it until you get your mark, the cut it with a blade so it doesn't fall in and block the pipe!

Pay them cheap and cheap is what you get.
