I was randomly humming this song today. So crazy how memories come to you out of nowhere.

I remember singing this song in show choir when I was in 6th grade. It was probably my favorite out of the songs we performed. I'm 40 now and it just occurred to me to look it up and see how it's actually supposed to sound. Our only accompaniment was the music teacher playing along on keyboard, so I had no idea it was a disco track. The choir was split in half for the chorus part of the song. So while one half was singing, "Let's do the bugaboooo," the other half sang, "Let's do the buga, do the bugaboo." The second half of the choir was also instructed to jump up an octave for the "dooOOOoooOOO" part. I'm surprised nothing like that is in the original song.

This still hold up, surprisingly - it's rather funky! I loved dancing to this album when I was about 7 or so. I still like several tracks on this. Also, side note, Edwin Star (famous for the Motown classic "War" and the later disco hit "Contact") produced "Get The Money" and "Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum".

I KNEW i HEARD This song elsewhere! It was on Shining Time Station when you went inside the picture machine you cranked. The kids were feeling glum about something not working out.
I guess they never said the real names of the singers did they?
