This is my favourite game of all time. Yes Rc3 draws instead of Rd1+ ??. The move … Rd7 must have been overlooked by Spassky, with the twin threat of Rd2 or simply Rd1. Should never had this 5 passed pawn wonder of a game anyway, if at move 25, Spassky had not played Qc3. I’d rather be White after 25 e6 ! It takes exact defence to hold by Black, one small mistake in practice gives White winning chances. I guess Fischer played 25 …. e6 with a sigh of relief. But a lovely game later with Black preventing perpetual check by sacrificing his bishop….else Spassky happily to take the draw.

I'm a degenerate, so I'm pet line is the deferred Soller gambit. Most of my opponents are not familiar with the ideas of the Blackmar-Diemer, and I get a fun game with lots of attacking chances.

Been a while since ive seen your content but I remember starting to watch your videos over 15 years ago. Learned so much, and very entertaining. I do miss your standard 5 min time control games !

Thank you, very good comments on the moves and thinking behind it. I also realized just how much we play in the comfort of AC and alot of the greats in the past did not have that convenience all the time or as much.

Love your show.. Kasparov and your self spoke of Karpov's exhaustion. Kasporov. Kas said the rescheduling of the match was a setup because of it. But nobody mentions the fact that karpov did not want to delay the match because he only had one more game to win the World Championship!!

15:22 Really surprised White missed 50.Kf6 here. Truly would’ve been an elegant finish that Alekhine would be proud of.

Wesley So's immortal blitz game vs Garry Kasparov never fails to make me happy! GM So is the future of chess & eventually will win all chess titles. GM So never tires, has deep concentration, and knows his opponents better than they know themselves. Bravo Wes!!!
